My boyfriend is obsessed with celebrities and I am thinking of breaking up?

He thinks Adriana Lima is the most beautiful woman in the world and that Victoria’s Secret models are the most beautiful in the world 🙄 when I said there are more beautiful women than Adriana even locally he sniggered and ridiculed me.

His comments make me feel insecure but according to him it is normal and I don’t want to deal with it.

Would you do the same? I don’t think I am being unreasonable. I don’t know any good man who has ever done this. Why would someone deliberately try to make a girl insecure?

You have to look at it in a couple different ways this is with girls that he would never ever be with because he just doesn't even know them but at the same time it's almost like flirting with them right in front of you when he says things like this and what you're trying to do is make a point that you do not like this you're showing him how strong you are at the same time and that's a good thing because if you allow things to happen that you dislike they will continue you will get angrier and why waste all that time I think you have the right to do what you're doing I think that he should respect that and understand what you're doing is that that just means that you are committed to him and if he doesn't straighten up and fly right you're going to walk away and that is a good point to make I think you're very smart girl I think you're very wise I think that he's going to blow it because he's going to let a girl that he should be keeping go this is your choice I can't make that choice for you but I think in your mind you're already set up and you're more responsible more respectful and you're more honest than he is and you need to feel that same thing coming from him you're the type of girl that is hard to find he's going to blow it though

No he doesn’t he thinks I have a giant ego so he never does in fact he is always making fun of me 😂 he even told me that if he was married to someone who looks like a celebrity he likes he would be “whipped” and when I kept bringing it up he said he meant he’d be too into her looks when he always says looks aren’t important to him. I don’t like it he makes me feel insecure about myself.

Yeah I suppose he is but he doesn’t like to express it too much. If he wasn’t attracted he wouldn’t get hard just from looking at me but I guess as women we have a lot of insecurities.

I have also noticed several insecurities in people. Any idea why you have them? He probably has some as well

My parents and family members were always very tough on me to look perfect and behave with impeccable manners all the time so I started feeling self conscious of myself for everything and developed a perfectionist attitude. Sometimes I just feel like I am not good enough. And yes he did mention he has insecurities too but I think as we go through life we all develop some and we just need people around who make them easier to deal with.

I had a similar upbringing and was told to act perfect. It’s a ton of pressure and caused me to doubt myself at times. You are right it’s better to have people around to talk to. Who helps you with your insecurities?

I have a close friend and a sister I talk to and release my stress that way sometimes. Otherwise I just relax and watch films and unwind.

Honey a lot of men either don't understand or don't care. My boyfriend is guilty of this to a lesser degree. It's disrespectful and sends us the message they don't like us. That may not be what he is trying to convey but they don't see it.
