I know everyone is a little different, and that the phrase "traditional relationship" means different things to different people. When I hear that phrase, I immediately think of a 1950s home dynamic.
So guys, when you say you want a traditional relationship, what are you envisioning?
Most of these loud male GaGers don't know what they mean or what they want.
What I want and what I have is a relationship where I am the primary winner of the bread. I make all the financial decisions. But it is my responsibility to meet all our financial obligations, for saving money, for paying bills, taking vacations, etc.
But I expect for her to keep the home. Because I don't want to cook or clean. Sure I will help out when I can. But not when I have worked all night to build an email server or have to get up at 1am to respond to a data center outage.
I do my part, she does hers. I don't ask for much. But the little I ask for is part of the deal or everything else falls apart.
I think the issue our society has it that it destroyed an average male's ability to be the sole provider for his family. So most families need two incomes to survive. And in the information and services age, women can be the primary providers. This has become devastating to many males out there as they are struggling trying to understand what makes them masculine. And we don't talk about it, because to diagnose ourselves isn't a masculine thing. So many males complain about about women and the increased footprint of their role (s). Because for so long, they depended on their proximity to women to define their masculinity. If they had inherently more rights, then that made them feel masculine. But as women proved they could make as much money, become sports icons, business/political leaders, these males became very defensive.
Some internalize these frustrations, then explode in fits of rage and violence. Some seek to put women back in the box, to feel better about their masculinity. Then others fall by the wayside, developing all manner of psychological and social issues. It is a growing problem as you can see from the many loud male GaGers here. They take to online to claim the reasons for their issues with masculinity can be answered through a political movement. It isn't simple economics where women don't want to themselves or their families to end up in poverty.
It is political brainwashing if women don't want that fate for themselves or their children. So they are angry at the women. But not at the politics responsible for eroding their ability to be providers. In the end, it is all about victimization. As it is someone else's responsibility to make them feel masculine again.
I actually don't want a traditional relationship in the way you say you imagine this being. If I say "traditional" I'm referring to women being feminine, loyal, not promiscuous, etc. Now, what does it mean to he feminine in today's US, because surely women all over the world are different from each other. In the US, I think being feminine, in regards to a woman, means complementing and contrasting masculinity. I don't think femininity is weak, rather, I think it is considerate, caring, kind, sensitive, thoughtful, sentimental, and more. I'm not saying masculinity is the opposite of this, but think of it as a more darker or richer shade of all of what makes feminity. In other words, I imagine feminity as being bright and comforting; masculinity as being dark and warm. I don't want a woman who constantly feels the need to assert herself, lock horns with me, call me insecure when I tell her a preference of mine, can't have a reasonable discussion with me, etc.
I feel like the modern American woman has gotten a stigma in recent years.
This can be a mixture of a lot of things.
I think being a traditional woman does not mean weak, but doesn't also mean you have to compete with and become men.
If we’re basing it on the 1950s traditional relationship. He wants a subservient woman who cooks and cleans while raising the children. He comes home from work, sits down and expects to be served, and doesn’t help with anything. He works and takes care of the family. He also expects her to not talk back, accept his advances no matter what (or he’ll just force it)
Now in 2022 unless he has an amazing job or is loaded that’s not possible. Cost of living is too much to survive on one income. If he wants to work himself to death; working multiple jobs to make ends meet he’s welcome to do that. But assuming his wife loves him I’d expect her to want him around for a while; so she’d probably prefer to work too and take some of the load off.
An alternative that many dudes seem to think is 50/50. But it’s not 50/50, for some guys the idea of 50/50 is he works, pays the bills and does some ‘manly’ chores (shovelling the drive or mowing the lawn, fixing something that breaks) and calls it a day. Meanwhile his wife would work a full day, cook and clean up, help the kids with homework, bathe and put them to bed. She has the heavier load than he does it’s more like 25/75 with the 75% being put on the wife. A real 50/50 relationship would be both cook, both work, both clean and participate in chores, both participate in the childcare and rearing.

How many disorders, mental "illness", behavioral shifts, adult "children" and such have become excessively over common? 1950s adult children living at home, uncommon. If someone wants a traditional relationship, their sole focus would probably be getting married, no premarital sex, no living together before marriage, and the woman being subservient to the man. When they do get married, the man would probably be the only one who works and bears all financial responsibility, and the woman would be dependent on him for everything. She would be expected to be a stay-at-home mom or a homemaker and raise their kids.
Personally, I don't see any appeal in this. I would take care of my man, but I do not think it is traditional because it is a natural want for everyone to be taken care of. I would take care of him as a partner, not as a mom though. I'd expect him to do the same. I'd go for work and he would do the same. I don't think a single income household would be feasible in this economy and my mother has always taught me never to be financially dependent on a man.

He does not allow her to work because she “needs” to take care of the kids and apparently, she cannot if she goes to work. They live with his parents… even his parents could take care of the kids, can they not? He abuses her emotionally, mentally, physically and financially. She cannot leave him because she has two kids and does not have a job nor enough money to support her kids. I certainly would not want to be in her situation.

I am not talking about that. Me and my lady have an agreement. I definitely do not control her. I simply have my role and she has hers. We came to an agreement. She may work, but she does not want to be the bread winner. But most importantly, I have a plan for her in case something happens to me. She won't be in the poor house because doesn't have work experience.

This is how I personally view the "traditional relationship".
I basically find that if the father is the "soldier/cop", then the mother is the "EMT/nurse". If the father is the "boss/product orderer", then the mother is the "manager/consultant".
I think a single parent family would be like a cop with an emt bag or a boss with no employees: it can work but it will never be more effective for the kids compared to the traditional household/relationship. (You could have a terrible husband/wife that would screw everything up, but that is a whole other "can of worms".)
For me it means a relationship where the woman has the opportunity to focus on the home making in any creatice way and things she's passionate about. Realistically I'm not in a situation where i could be the only breadwinner that's mostly because I chose a subject to study that I was passionate about in school not because it gives a big paycheck.
So though I'm not gonna be poor it's not a situation where I'm sure I could be the only breadwinner for-ever. I just would want to work for a situation where she has the opportunity to work half time and we'll still have a good living.

Well well well. I've grown in traditional family and I can say that there is advantages and disadvantages but still im more into to the traditional relationship and values etc cause I believe it's the right thing to be.
Let's say traditional relationship which means men are first in relationships. Like they are the one who decide and lead. Women are more like following men's orders. But that doesn't mean men can force women to the do whatever they want.
Men are protector and first financial supporter. Men must pay everything else. Women are more like caring houseworks and kids. Sometimes women don't work in traditional relationship and they care kids in house.

When I envision a traditional relationship I envision my grandparents style relationship.
1. intense loyalty to spouses , family and close friends.
2. involvement in communal groups whether it be the church, community center or charity.
3. No sex until marriage or a least engagement rings.
4. Assistance with my chores if possible and vise versa.
5. A woman who doesn't need overly flashy are materialistic things to be happy.
6. A woman who wear non-revealing clothing. The man must also dress well.
7. A woman that can cook. (Cooking saves money to raise children)

I think it means something different to everyone. To me it means a marriage in which the wife is willing to put the welfare of the children ahead of her career ambitions while they are young, the man financially supports the family during that time, and then she goes back into the workforce to help financially support the fairly once the kids are old enough.
It means not toeing the feminist party line and being willing to allow men to do men things and women to do women things in the relationship. That obviously means different things to different people, but I think there are some commonalities to what that means in most people's minds.
It means respecting, appreciating and supporting masculinity and femininity, something we see less and less of these days, to the chagrin of both sexes.
I usually assume it’s the man being the main breadwinner in a marriage while the woman stays home or in this day and age maybe works less hours and handle more childcare duties. I have to say I barely know of marriages anymore where the wife stays home and doesn’t work. The only marriages I know where that has been remotely affordable is when the husband is a doctor or surgeon (I work at a hospital).

A traditional "relationship" could simply mean marriage. A traditional "marriage" typically means one where the husband is the primary breadwinner and the woman's main focus is to raise children if they have any. If there are no children at present then she may or may not have a job as well, but usually her main concern is being a homemaker.
Not everybody's going to have that picture perfect home where the woman is serving her husband. I don't like that very sexist. To me a traditional family. There's children. We all sit down we all have dinner together, we all pray together. We all try to work together as a unit. One of us can be the provider of the home whoever makes the most. The other puts their career on hold until the children are either in school or empty nesters. There has been many a Time that I was humbled by a big layoff. We were thankful that my wife's business pulled us through those lean times. We all cannot have the homes like leave it to Beaver or Father knows Best. We did have a beautiful happy home life. Where our children remember their childhood. where they could go home and discuss their activities of the day or they're disappointments.
It's a relationship where the man is a gentleman and the woman is a lady, where they respect and value each other's differences as a man and a woman, and where each is allowed and expected to do the things that come natural to them as a man and a woman and they appreciate and value each other for those things. That is the essence of a traditional relationship.
To me it means a relationship with a woman who doesn't get defensive as if her natural role of being a mother and homemaker is a bad thing. Someone who enjoys and is proud of that role and is strong enough to see through the politically correct brainwashing that tells her that her natural role is somehow demeaning.

Traditional roles existed before the thing with modern economy existed. Men used to work from dusk to dawn on the field to grow food. The woman's job was to tend the family and make sure the home was clean and there was food to eat. Everyone seems to misunderstand it but traditional relationships meant to split the work down so both could focus on doing their best. Its not oppression when there basically was no choice. If both worked on the field the home was dirty and the children unattended and the elderly parents would be without help. So both had to split, the man came home to a clean home and food while the woman did all the work. If both came home to a still dirty home and no food while being exhausted, then both would be less happy about it.
It doesn't take a genius to notice something obvious that this was in fact needed and would still be needed today if daycare and retirement homes disappeared.

Some share household work and cooking, but it largely depends on which one works longer. None of the women do anything regarding yard work or repairs around the house either. You forget that many of these established roles have came to be because of the biological differences between male and females sex. Do you believe in the bible? The biggest thing I see wrong with a woman not staying home, or man I suppose (but woman are by nature more nurturing) is that when the kids go to daycare or a sitter, someone else is raising them... someone else won't raise them like a one mother would. Not even guidance and structure during the early years needed from ones own parents...

Regardless of weather I have an undiagnosed condition, I’ve managed just fine, so even if I do I wouldn’t need to be medicated. Though high blood pressure does seem to run in that family so who knows once I get older

That is extremely rare that a patient would be prescribed more than one antidepressant. 3 is essentially unheard of. I've seen multiple therapists since my parents sent me as kid, if I had a mental illness they for sure would have pointed it out by now. Lol so I will still with the information I've gotten from the professionals over some random boy online hahah

Not really, traditional relationships mean woman stays at home while the man works outside. I always use the analogy of the farm. The man does all the outside work while the woman does all the work on the inside. Both have something to do and both need each other for it. If both did the same then they would be too exhausted from the work outside to do the work inside the home.
