What does it mean when a man calls you to wish Happy birthday after watching your story on social media?

After he watched my stories on instagram, he called me to wish happy birthday he asked me twice when exactly my birthday is because I told him it was a surprise birthday party thrown by my friends earlier than my real birthday. And then he wanted to pick me up from the airport even though I told him my family is coming to pick me up, but insisted on picking me up instead. What does this all mean?

He's obviously interested in you in some way, whether it's sexual interest or just dating. But it sounds a bit dodgy on his part. If he rarely initiates contact, you don't know him too much, and he only reacts to nice photos of you, then be careful.

Ah ok. So now it depends on how you see it and how he sees it. If you are both attracted to each other, he has made it clear he likes you, then you can always take it one step at a time.

I think we like each other, but we are kinda afraid of showing that feeling towards each other. When I do something, he always makes sure he does something in return, that's the feeling I have anyway.

You should meet up and take it slowly, see what happens. If he likes you and you are both single, there is no doubt he will initiate the first move. Careful not give out signals like you're not interested, otherwise he will not make any first move.

Ah, I see... so you say I should somehow show him that I am interested in him, so he will not be afraid of making the move, right? How should I give him that signal? :)

Simply by being yourself. If you know and trust this guy, then you can just naturally show him you like him eg seem interested in his conversations, eye contact, etc...
