Friends with benefits had me meet his mom and now I’m confused?

So don’t judge me but I actually haven’t even known this guy for a week, it’s only been 4 days and yk we had sex a few times, hence why he is a friends with benefits. Anyways, he talked about how he was hoping our little fling would go somewhere but he’s not in the right headspace, which I respect and all. But then he wanted me to meet his mom, I just find it really weird because he was scared of me meeting his mom at first. I slept over one night and left like 20 mins before his mom came home in the morning because he didn't want me meeting her. I did meet her recently and stuff and he kept asking me if I liked his mom and what I thought of her and stuff. I’m just really confused rn. Why did he want me to meet his mom all of a sudden? Isn’t it usually best that your friends with benefits doesn’t meet your mom/parents?

Well, that is the thing with friends with benefits arrangements. They always seem to get to this point where the lines are blurred between the friends part and the relationship part. Sounds like he wants to take this to the next level and get more serious.

That is my only guess as to why he would want you to meet his family. If it were strictly a sexual arrangement, he would have no need or desire for that to happen.

It seems like he is trying to transition this into a relationship. The question is whether you want that or not. That is entirely up to you, but if you don't, you need to make sure he knows that.

Plus, if you are not comfortable meeting his parents or family, tell him that you aren't. Might as well get that out in the open now opposed to later. If you are okay with it, just be prepared that he is trying to change the relationship dynamic and make it more than just friends and a sexual thing.

it would seem odd to meet the parents when in a friends with benefits type thing but depends on the age too , with younger relationships sometimes the parents just wonder who there kids are spending time with and no entirely sure of the exact nature on the relationship
