Does a change in texting frequency and tone mean a change in mind?

1st of all nothing has come up for him. he's open about everything with me so nothing in his life has changed to be the reason of this but. i am in a long distance relationship. its not been too long since we got together.

he usually would always reply within an hour or so and when he talks he's super enthusiast and excitable to be talking to me but the past week he's taking such long time to reply and kinda cold and seems bored.

does this mean he's losing interest? i have somewhat of a trauma with this kind of situation and i dont want to outright ask him because in the past that was a turn off for guys too. guys what goes through your mind when in these situations

Texting sucks, and most guys tolerate it by necessity. Keeping a long distance relationship strong by relying on text is setting yourself up for failure.
