The only men that are not competing with other men are the top 10% of men that the 90% of women consider perfect. The other 90% of men are competing, and women are definitely not competing for them.

Men do not have that, as they can naturally have children with a few woman at the same time, when a woman can only be in one pregnancy at the same time. So rivlary is not needed for males. And useless traits are dropped during evolution.
