My old friends with benefits is engaged and still calling me?

We met in 2019 and we would go out and end up sleeping together. We did this often but both understood and accepted it for what it was for a while because he was only in my city for a short term 6 month business opportunity. I caught feelings and he rejected me because he had to move back to the city and state that his two kids are in.

Well, he moved and we would still play Xbox and he would FaceTime me often. Then it got to the point where I started dating people and got into a relationship and so did he. However, I broke up with my boyfriend but he ended up getting engaged to his girlfriend.

Anytime I post a new picture of me on FB he will FaceTime me and tell me how beautiful I am and that he misses me or “wants me” etc.

I used to always tell my sister that I will never marry but that if I ever did, it would be to him.. I believe that he’s the one that got away and vice versa. But…. He’s engaged so like… why is he doing all of this now?

He misses you, and isn't sure about his upcoming marrriage. How do you feel about him? If you are inclined, tell him to break off his engagement and then call you. He certainly shouldn't be marrying another woman if he's not over you.

I mean, I wouldn’t expect him to leave his sons again.. especially for me. And I can’t leave the state I’m in because of child custody jurisdictions with my daughter.. but I do care about him. A lot. I think it’s one of those things where we both prob want each other but can’t be with each other. Our kids come first. I think that’s why he has decided to get serious with someone he can actually be with.

Very good point. I still think he is uncertain about his current relationship. The best thing you can do is let him talk through it with you. Do not offer him any hope that he could be with you.
