We had decided to stop seeing each other for some time, it's been 3 months of this power play as to who will give in first.
We occasionally see each other in our work place but he's completely changed his place of work. Almost as if to avoid me. So we bump into each other every now and then and exchange greetings and ask about each other. It's never unpleasant. He always has a keen interest and asks more than what is necessary. I just wonder why he had to completely change his work timings so we wouldn't have to see eachother more than necessary.

Clearly this hasn't worked & apparently you're ready to crack rather then moving on, like you should because of your issue of being in a relationship with him
Non of this matters. After a year you'll still have the problem. The question is if you'll stil be working in the same place for a few years because 3 months is hardly long enough, in relation to a work place for concidering the fact that you'll never get back together with him ever again.
