Why would a guy want to keep cheating on you but won’t break up with you and not want to leave?

My friend has a guy they’ve been together for a while and he continuously keeps cheating on her but won’t let her leave him and he won’t leave her always making threats. I don’t get it if you’re obviously not happy and blaming the other for the unhappiness and you’re always stepping out why won’t you leave or let the other person go?

Oh I got this one, I have met multiple people that are the same way as you explained. The reason why he doesn’t want to leave the relationship is because he ether doesn’t want to be alone or he is using her for something Or both:( he does not truly care for the girl he is cheating on but he needs her for something weathr it’s to not be alone, a place to stay, or ext, he knows he can cheat on her because she has not left him yet after everything he has done to her.
