Do think a eighteen year old boy would talk to another guy on the phone for six hours?

My eighteen year old son goes in my basement and talks to another guy for six hours. He doesn't have any friends outside the household. He just talks on the phone to a guy. I can't hear what the other person is saying. Just him talking and laughing. Once I heard him say to this person do you think that guy is attractive. Just wondering by this description, do you guys think my son may be gay?

Could go either way. Before I grew up I actually liked talking on the phone because, well, quite frankly, that's the only thing my friends and I could do when we weren't in class/at work. I'm straight, all my friends from back then are straight. None of us would do that NOW, as about 15 minutes is the most I can tolerate on the phone 99% of the time, but that's also because there's a lot more going on in my life now as an adult than there was at a time when I spent 8 hours/day in school, worked part-time, all of them did the same, but most of them had homework on top of everything else (I always did mine at school in the next period), so after dinner was really the only time we had to socialize with the ones who lived too far away to just go walk to.

Yes, six hours is inordinately long to speak to anyone on the phone, but if the other guy is not from your son's circle of friends, then it is even more suspicious. And, talking about the attractiveness of another man adds further suspicion to the situation.

May I ask if your son has shown any signs of being gay, other than those phone conversations? I'm a gay man myself, and had a hard time accepting my sexuality when I was your son's age. So, I know first-hand how hard being a teeanger and gay at once can be.

Friends are friends, he might be gay he might not be gay.

If he is talking to someone across the country or even in a different country doesn't mean anything besides they do understand each other well.

Is he playing video games, I would be on the phone instead of the mic when I played with the homies, it's possible maybe he's playing a mobile game with an online friend? 🤷🏽

I don't care if he's gay, I love my son, will accept him whether he is or isn't. Just wondering that's all since he's hasn't told me anything.

He can have friends that you don't know of sure he has quite a few and he could be gay then again he might not
