so I'm talking to this guy and I get off late at night and he's usually busy during the day but I shoot him a text every once in while during the day to check up on him so when I finally have tike to talk to him which is around 7pm tgen i make dinner so i text him around 8 or 9 . I text him to see what he's up too he asks if I'm not going to sleep. I say in a minute I'm eating or I'm watching a movie he says to go to sleep after I finish. Does he not want to talk to me or is concerned about me staying up or he's busy with someone else.

Seems like you are easy to overthink, if he's busy during the day it's possible he might get home tired as well and wants to go to bed but not leave you by yourself so he wants you to go to bed first lol

Maybe he doesn't want to talk. I would understand being concerned for you if it was 12 or 1 am, even 11pm but texting you to go to sleep at 8 o 9 doesn't make sense
