Why can’t I stop thinking about a stupid super popular jock high school crush?

I was the really quiet girl. I never attention to him I thought he was a loser bc he did sports and he was an honor student and he was class president. When I started to pay attention to him was when he started talking to me for no reason I didn’t know his name or anything. He knew mine and would make a huge deal anytime he’d accidentally bump into me. One day we were packing up because the period was over, he sat in front of me and instead of packing up he was staring at me when I looked up he just smiled it me, I gave him my awkward fake smile and left, but that’s when I started liking him. He would always protect me from guys trying to mess with me and he would always be staring at me as I’m writing. Then he got a girlfriend. I texted him without knowing this and it didn’t go so well he did talk to me but in a way that it obvious he didn’t want to. I don't know if he told anyone but he never talked about it again. He kept talking to me in class but he didn’t save my number and was boring when we texted.

My cousin messaged him too she was popular, pretty but she told me he’s a boring texter and his friends complained that he never texted them back. He once layed back in chair and moved his face really close to mine with his eyes closed but when I pulled away he opened his eye and apologized. He said that we almost kissed but the changed the story. He would sometimes stumble over his words when talking to me, senior year we were still in the same class

Not all the details are here but I used to catch him staring at me and a girl that liked him once said he was nicer to me than any other girl in our class. He just laughed and looked up at me completely guilty
He sent me a friend request too after I undfriended two years after high school. He has a girlfriend I have a boyfriend but he’s still stuck in my head

I mean I don't know fat probably but pimply no. But he is different he’s more into parties than he was and he didn’t get far after high school. He’s still persuing a career in sports while I’m off to university next year. But I still like him.
