Boyfriend Got a New Dog and Shows Excessive Affection?

My boyfriend recently got a new dog and I’m having trouble adjusting to it. We live together but I still go to college so am living in my dorm M-F. I live with him on weekends so I feel the dog is a big part of our relationship (especially because we spend so much time inside).
Well, last night he let the dog sleep on the bed with us and I got extremely resentful. Even more so, he showers the dog with love and affection/praise when we wake up which makes me feel jealous. (Eg. Telling her how beautiful and good girl she is). I was very happy with our routine (over a year together) before the dog came into the picture and now I feel like he’s putting her on my level/equal.
I grew up with a dog but my family doesn’t allow him in any bedrooms or furniture and we don’t give him as much of affection/treats etc. I’m a cat person so perhaps this is the issue, but my biggest concern is just the feeling of jealousy I have when he showers her with affection and has his arm around her and me on the couch. I don't know, I feel awful for feeling this way. any advice? Anybody been in this situation before?

I’m not sure about that… I tried to honk of that actually and i don’t *think* id be jealous. But he also wouldn’t be calling her “the most beautiful girl in the world” while I’m in the kitchen cooking his breakfast
