My ex heard I went on a date, he unblocked me and asked how it went with a laughing emoji?

Me and my ex were engaged to be married in May of this year but called it off in June of this year (mutual decision).

I was keen to be friends but he wanted no contact, he blocked me on social media and blocked my number too. This is the first time I've heard from him since we called off the engagement.

I feel a bit weirded out, first of all, how did he find out, second of all, why the laughing emoji and third of all why does he want to know how it went?

I don't want to ask him all these questions because, honestly, I'd rather just ignore the message but I am eager to know.. Why would he send such a message?

Guys, (and gals) can ya help me? As an over thinker my mind is going all over the show. I just want to know is this normal behaviour? Is he being immature? Does he want to be friends now? or does he maybe still have feelings? Is he jealous?

He asked me back out again today and told me to stop dating, so, I guess he had feelings. Thanks for all the answers guys and girls!

Definitely seems like jealousy and could be a bit of hidden hurt or anger, especially if he used the laughing emoji.. kind of seems like he was being sarcastic or trying to mock you that you went on a date. It’s possible he’s shocked or hurt that you went on a date so fast. Maybe he didn’t expect you to just be over him that fast or want to move on, and he’s still hurting. I’ve been both people here so I completely understand his feelings and his message, but you also have every right to move on and do what you’d like. Reply to him, he’s probably really hurting, but make it clear you’d like to keep things cordial and do not want to argue about it.
