He is a guy from College and we are studying the same major. I know he is attracted to me but a friend of his implied that he was ashamed of me so he wouldn’t consider dating me. What could be the reason for This? Does he not consider me accomplished or smart enough? What am I lacking? I’m not ugly or fat.

The first part of that sentence just makes my head spin. How do you imply someone else is ashamed of you? This is second hand info and should regarded at best as a half truth and at worst a lie.
So, basically you are freaking out over something created in your head. Hmm...
Ok there's a lot of women that I find very very physically attractive... but I'd be ashamed if any of my family saw me with them. For example, a hoe is physically attractive but very few men want to be seen with a hoe.
