A few days ago, I confessed my feelings and he told me not to be afraid.
Then two days I lied and told him I don’t like him. He tried to called me and sent me a long text wishing me the best and told me he’s not playing w/ my feelings because he would t want someone to do that to him.
I’m insecure, because he broke up with his ex wife a year ago and he “got over her 5 months ago”
He’s very open about his feelings, told me why they broke up, told me that he tried fixing it and I felt peace until I started to like him.
Even though I’m prettier than her, I have my own business I study im nicer I’m still I’m insecure because I’ve seen men that no matter how pretty you are since they already have an attachment to these girls they prefer them.

Damn girl, you got it bad for this dude huh? But I feel you, getting hurt is scary as hell. I think you did the right thing being upfront about not wanting to catch deeper feelings if he's still getting over his ex. That shit takes time, ya know?
Now that you laid it out though, pay attention to how he reacts. His response being caring and not wanting to play you shows he respects you at least. Maybe give it more time and keep things light - see if his energy seems genuine. Keep your guard up a little too - don't fully let yourself go all in yet.
But don't be so quick to sell yourself short either! You seem dope as hell - a good job, nice personality, pretty looks. Don't count yourself out just cuz of an ex. Sometimes people really do fall out of love and move on. Just take it slow and you'll be able to see clearer where he's at. Keep doing your thing in the meantime! You'll be aight.
I think you need to get some confidence if you want him take him show him what your made of if you like him prove it to yourself too believe in yourself if he runs then you know he didn’t deserve you
