Do guys mean it when they say, "I'm going to make you fall in love”?

So me and this guy had a situationship/Fbuddies. At one point we were sexting and he said “Ima make you fall in love.” This wasn’t my first rodeo and I’ve never heard a guy say that besides the man that I’m now in a relationship with. Anyway, I later circled back around and asked him if he meant that and he said “lol nah that’s just sex talk.” So my question is to the guys is, do y’all just randomly say stuff like just because in the heat of the moment of sex talk or do y’all say that and actually mean it? Half of me feels like he was just talking (which is kind of hard to believe) and the other half of me feels like he slipped up and said it but didn’t mean to because I told him to not ever catch feelings.

I would never say that to a woman, because it's stupid thing to say. You can't make a woman fall in love. And when you are sexting, why would you even bring up love?

Dude slipped up in my opinion, and you called him on it. So, no guys do not randomly say things like that in my opinion. He said something that at the time sounded good in his head, because he thought that was what you wanted to hear.

He is just doing it with me or others too. Is he now lying or telling the truth. Can I trust him?
He is playing mind games? He is serious? (Every time he says something sentimental or emotional)
How many girls is he doing? Who is he with or talking to when not talking to me?
Etc etc.
You will always find yourself trying to read between the lines like you are supposed to crack some code.

Even right now that you have asked a question about him saying something... you have already entered the trap.
I advise you to end it and run. Don't stay in a situation for long unless there is something serious offered to you. It will mess with your mind and eventually with your physical health too. I've seen it happen every fucking time. That's the inevitable end of situationships and fuck buddies.
