What's with the double standards of SOME men imposing boundaries for their daughters to be respected while disrespecting women themselves?

Let me first clarify that this does not apply to all men with daughters who thinks and behaves this way so that no one can accuse of me of "generalizing" so don't wear the shoe if it doesn't fit.

But there is no denying that MANY men with daughters, sister and mothers think that it is ok to disrespect, belittle and degrade other women yet will go insane when a guy is disrespecting their daughter here's some examples

1. *Father* disapproves of his underaged daughter dating a much older man and files statutory rape charges.

*Also father* having illegal inappropriate sexual relationships with underaged teen girls HIMSELF.

2. *Man protects his daughter from harm and disrespect and tells her to only date "good men*"

*Also man* disrespect, abuses, lie and cheat on every woman he's with and sleeps with women he considers low-quality "whores" while demanding their daughters to be respected and will get upset if their daughters become promiscuous.

3. *Man condemns wife/girlfriend or daughter for posting revealing seductive photos on social media presenting herself as a single hot woman inviting attention from other men*

*Also men likes and comments on other women's half naked photos and going to strip clubs being entertained by these women.

Why don't men lead by example when it comes to their daughters which baffles me. If you can't practice what you preach then don't preach at all and keep your sermons to yourself. IJS

Most men are instinctually protective of women. Especially women they are related to. I noticed my dad and brother have both encouraged my sister and nieces to disrespect boys/men.

They are doing it to be protective and it’s well intentioned. But again I notice in myself. I want my female relatives to be treated like queens by men

I myself have questioned this dichotomy. I have personally had to suffer horrible and unfair judgment by women in my life for just being a man. There is this “shoot first and ask questions later” men have to tolerate. These women had fathers/brothers who taught them to be like that. But when an otherwise decent man keeps getting judged like that he can get jaded.

Another good quesiton is why don’t mothers teach their sons to respect themselves when dealing with women? I was personally brainwashed to kiss women’s asses by my mother since I was a young boy and I hated her for it.

A mother should be wise enough to teach a man to treat a woman well yet watch out for red flags that she is using/abusive him. However I do think enough mothers teach their sons to have self respect in dating.

Thank you for clarifying that it's SOME men. I have an adult daughter and we are very close and it matters a lot who I date. I know I would be a better husband the next time because of raising a daughter and being so close with her.
