Can you guys read this response and tell me how you perceive their response?

I asked a guy that i work with to hangout by texting this :

Hey! I hope this isn’t crossing any lines or anything so I apologize in advance if it does but I was wondering if you wanted to hang out some time? You genuinely seem like a great guy and I’d love to get to know you more!

and this was his response:

“Nah don’t worry about this isn’t crossing any lines at all I’ll see cause I’m usually busy but I’ll make sure to let u know if I’m freed up.”

Do you think this is him just letting me down nicely? or you do think hell actually hit me up when he's free?

If I were him, I wouldn't follow-up with your invitation. Why? Because of the negative lead-in to your text. What lines do you think you are crossing and why are you apologizing for something that hasn't happened yet? That indicates a woman with low self-confidence, and guys generally don't like that.

Too bad you didn't just say "Wanna hang out sometime? You look like a nice guy." That he would probably follow-up with you.
