If a coworker asks you to join him for lunch repeatedly does it mean he likes you at least a little bit (platonic or not)?

there is a coworker in my department that asked me if I drink coffee a few times and often times asks if I join him for lunch. I always decline and the last time I did he replied „it’s always the same with you!“. There are plenty of other coworkers he has known for way longer than me that he could go to lunch with so I didn’t mind rejecting his offers. I thought he was very nice for trying to include me but recently I got the feeling that he gossips about me so I’m not sure how he sees me.
