Am I wrong for yelling at boyfriend after he pulled a g*n from drawer during argument?
I (26F) and my boyfriend (40M) have been arguing the last two days, and struggling with issues to do with emotional support and pet responsibilities.
Things came to a boiling point today when we argued off and on with very little communication from him. I was just finding him crying alone in the garage. I had also been crying, but I had talked about my reasons, though he hadn’t said what he was thinking.
So this evening I had gone into the garage to check on him the last time, and he was just sitting in his chair staring again. So again I plead for him to talk to me. And which leads to him grabbing his gun out of his work shop drawer. (Which is not wear it is usually located) so I jumped up and grabbed it out of his hand and grabbed his other gun he keeps on his wall. Yelled that he was ridiculous and took the guns into the house. I came back and just started yelling about how messed up it was that he would do that. What was I supposed to think is going to happen. (He has expressed suicidal thoughts to me in the past, and lost a very close friend to suicide that he committed in front of his SO.) I freaked out in a way I never have. I feel I have officially been drove crazy. I am wondering am I wrong or would be perceived crazy , as he acted like he didn’t know why I reacted the way I did. He had very little reaction at all, I left and talked to a trusted person but didn’t get a lot of confirmation if it is fair that I freaked out based on how he had been acting and knowing his past.
I am ashamed for yelling and it’s not like me to ugly cry scream
TL;DR boyfriend pulled g*n out of drawer while arguing, I freaked out thinking he was about to use it, he claimed he was going to put it away.
Am I wrong for assuming what I assumed?
Am I wrong for freaking out about it?
what could he have been thinking to not think that was not the time to ‘take a gun somewhere else’ ?
