Guys, Can a situationship turn into a relationship?

There is a friend of mine in university I really like. We first noticed each other in September, when a new semester started. A few months later we started talking more extensively and there's even been nights when we talked all night. In one of such nights we both confessed our feelings and it's mutual.

He rarely messages me outside of university, but when we're in university he always sits next & super close to me (by 'super close' I mean his arm, leg or knee touches mine) and we always talk.

We are quite similiar and have specific needs in a relationship that work well together, but our values at the moment don't allign (I told him I am open to changing them in the near future). Is there a chance to make this work at all or no?

Don't go changing your values, just deepen your understanding of them. It's really simple, either you feel this person is maybe someone special, or your unconvinced. If you think maybe he's special, take the time. if they ARE special they will be willing to wait. Guys can wait if its important and they love the girl.

That said, if you ARE making someone wait and their waiting for you. Make sure you work out how you feel as soon as you can. Noone should be kept hanging on just to be set loose.

It's worth waiting to find something special; That said, we all make the person we choose special and the real trick is to mutual maintain the will to see them above others.

There’s a chance it could. But I doubt it. Because if he’s serious about you he will call or text regardless of whether you two are at the university or not. Now if you had slept w him right away or done something w him sexually I’d say very slim chance. Most men don’t get into serious relationships w girls who are easy. It makes you wonder ok if she’s this easy how many other dudes has she been easy w. At that point she’s just for fun. As for why you two are “similar” w “specific needs” in a relationship he could just be playing to your rules to get what he wants. This emotional connection women talk about that they get w certain men. It’s usually just men Lear ing her likes, dislikes then adjusting to it to give himself a better chance at whatever he’s trying to do.

The reality is that a situationship gives the guy what he wants from you without requiring a deeper commitment. It would be hard to convince him to invest more in you, unless his mind was already headed in that direction.
