I gave crush a nickname (made out of his name) it's ridiculous but really cute i don't use it in public just between us. He says he hates it but he still lets me call him that silly nickname. One day I called him how everyone calls him and he said do you have a fever? Are you sick or smth you never call me that. So then i used his nickname again and he said he hates it again

Do guys secretly like these silly names just won't admit to it?

Depends on the nickname. At one time I was called "Commander Lobo". I liked that one. I've had others I hated.

No. In my language you can create a nickname out of the real name. For example in English it would go something like dominic-dommy
In my language you can add "ka" at the end of the name to create a nickname which is only used for kids. For example Daniel-Danika
