One does not keep photos if those don't have any meaning. Of course, you keep holiday pictures with scenery because of the beauty of the scene itself. However, one does not keep old photos of crushes and other lovers simply because any reasonable person wants to put these times behind them.

The only reason why anyone would want to keep pictures of exes and other boy/-girlfriends is because they are not over them, because they are nudes or because there is still something going on in secret.

Thus, your boyfriend keeping those pictures hidden indicates that he does not want to delete them because they mean something to him and because he does not want you to see them.

Time for an ultimatum...
