Why is my partner always nice/attentive to me after an argument?

after we have an argument my partner is very attentive and willing to help or do whatever for me, but after a day or a couple days he continues the same behavior prior to the argument. I honestly don’t get it.

Well as a man who gets into arguments with my girlfriend and I tend to do this it's because in my mind I feel bad for the moment and want to make her feel better but end up chalking it up to her having a bad day today and it wasn't necessarily the behavior that bothered her but the mood and my actions at the time. I don't know if other guys do it because they think like that too, but from my perspective that's what I think
