What does it mean when a close guy friend ask for a break for 2 months? is it over?

So basically, My guy friend and I had a fight that actually lasted for two weeks and some days it actually started off small but then got worse with time. it's the first time of us having a problem also it getting to this point it wasn't physical for sure but the tension within those 2 weeks were high negatively. the last day when the tension was quite high I said somethings to him related to the fight then he told me let's take a 2 months break from this. I didn't know what to say so I just said I agree. a week later, I knew we were on a break but honestly just wanted to make sure he was okay considering how we left things well he didn't reply so I just told him to take care of himself then I let him be not going to text again. Was just hurt when he said 2 months cause I don't know if the friendship is over or not. I hope it's not though despite what happened I still care.

No its not a guy thing lol what was u guys fighting iver that u couldn't have just resolved and instead needed to treat your friendship like a relationship

exactly! I mean if he asked for a little space I would understand cause people have to cool off yk. I care about him a lot that's for sure. but this is so confusing
