European vs. American Guys. What are the main differences?

What are the main differences in general between the two, do you think?

The guy I like is European (slovakia) and I'm wondering if there's different stuff/traditions regarding dating etc. in Europe as oposed to America.

From what I've experienced, Americans are really forward in their actions, sometimes it's quite alarming. I am European, Irish to be exact and here things are a lot more traditional. Of course there are sluts and all that crap but mostly if you like someone you don't just flat out tell her you wanna do stuff to her, that's what I think most Americans are like. There are huge differences in culture that I can't even begin to describe, I'm pretty laid back for the most part but I don't sit there and take sh*t from anyone either. In Europe dating is a much more intimate affair, you don't just ask out people you barely know, if you do that people think it's creepy. You need to know the person first and I never understood the American term the 'friend zone', over here there is no friend zone as to even get in a relationship with someone you have to become their friend first. I'm gonna shut up now lol

yeah but when it works it works damn good, I'd prefer to have a little dignity in my relationships rather than just flat out asking a girl does she wanna get it on lol, not saying all Americans do that but from what I've noticed it's a lot more than it is here

"Europe" is about 30 different countries with various habits , various languages, religions.

I suppose there will be differences: Slovakia is agrarian Mid Europe, mainly Roman Catholic but under communist rule until ca 1990. This probably affected education and views on a lot of things.

Difficult to say from Belgium how different life in Slovakia is.

My neighbour is a Slovak and he's a nice guy and proud grandfather, that's all I can say. Not very helpful, I think.

I live in Europe (Ireland), have lived in America (East Coast) and visited other European countries. I think the main differences are American guys are more flirty up front whereas European guys are less confident and need alcohol to flirt. Naturally it depends on an individuals personality but that's what I perceive from their behavior s. Also I think Americans are more politically correct and reserved in terms of humour sometimes, whereas Europeans laugh at everything. Compared to Irish guys, American guys are way more in touch with their feelings and more affectionate. Not too sure about Slovakians however. Just enjoy it and if he's going back home soon , be mindful of getting attached to him.

when I wuz in Europe for 2 wks I met tons of guys and guys in euro are way more chillaxed, don't understand American jokes whatsoever, are way more open about their feelings, tend to wear tighter clothing than US guys, and I'm sure there's tons of more differences but that's what I can think of right now... ohhh and Euro guys tend to be way hotter.

I know more American guys than European guys, but I've noticed my European guy friends are all gender neutral in their beliefs/behaviors. Americans would probably call that effeminate (even though it's really not), but they are OK with giving hugs to other guys, letting girls lift heavy things, stuff like that.

hmm yeah , but that depends on the country also , like in france , guys give kisses to each other when they greet , but 100 miles north , in belgium they don't and see it as gay behavior :)

about the lifting things , well if she can handle it , fine :D hugs for guys hmm , when I'm drunk only :D

not every country in Europe is the same , slovakia is more eastern Europe so it's a little bit different maybe than here ( Belgium) . I can't really think of any differences in tradition , though we do cheek kisses faster than in USA I think ( cheek kiss for girls is already at first encounter , shaking hands is seen as stiff behavior )
