Why does he stare back intensely (blank face) if not interested?

I'll initiate the staring and he'll stare back at me in my eyes blank face.

he's confident...but I thought guys look away when they see ugly things looking at them lol

this staring contest I start has happened multiple so many times!

he's cute I can't help it not totally super model hot, but he has a hotness aura.

and he stares back until I look away.

This could be a lot of things, especially humorous. Could be creeper, annoyed, interested, absence seizures brought on by the sight of a pretty girl. Honestly next time it happens, playfully break gaze and ask what the hell is up with the staring. Granted it may get turned back on you if he thought you started it, but it could also be a way to get the ball rolling if you so choose and at least give you closure. I'd be curious to see what he says.

The question is why is a blank faced male holding gaze with you, back and forth the two of you are looking at one another.

May be that you stare at him so much that he stares back because he is annoyed. That's my guess. If that's not it then it's because he likes you.

He stared me down once for no reason after I stared at him multiple times. Once in an elevator I entered we made eye contact and he just turned his head toward me and stared me down. Then completely ignores me when he has the chance to talk to me, talks to my friends beside me=uninterested right?

Then while I'm talking to a mutual friend some other day he says something to her and then continues to listen to our convo staring me down in the face until he leaves (I saw out of the corner ofmyeye)
