Skinny, Curvy, or Fat? Who Cares?

Skinny, Curvy, or Fat? Who Cares?

I've been wanting to make a myTake like this for the longest time, and I only recently developed the motivation and passion for it. Recently, there have been a slew of myTakes discussing women and their body types. That's all fine and dandy, there's nothing wrong with a little body positivity, but there's one thing that those articles did that really got to me, and that was the fact that they put other body types down in order to lift another up.

Why is it so difficult for people to discuss a body type without the need to slam another, and to make those women in that category feel bad about themselves? Body shaming is not a good thing. Bringing someone down because of their body, no matter how skinny, no matter how unhealthy, is not a good thing, and can end up making things even more worse than they are. The majority of people who shame women are well...women? We are constantly putting each other down for our bodies, and we are making each other feel bad about ourselves, when in reality, we should be lifting each other up. We all are women, girls, we should be helping one another feel confident, and encourage each other.

With that out of the way, I decided to make a body-positive myTake, and to say how beautiful each one is, because I have had enough of the bashing and putting one another down...

Are you skinny?

Skinny, Curvy, or Fat? Who Cares?

Well, you are beautiful. Most of you are just naturally thin, and that's okay. Just like many overweight people struggle with losing weight, there are many thin girls who struggle with gaining it. Small boobs and a small waist can be out-of-this-world hot. You don't need big boobs and a big ass to be hot. Be proud, you're beautiful.

...Or are you curvy?

Skinny, Curvy, or Fat? Who Cares?

There's a lot of debate on what is considered curvy or not, but let's just say this: if you have an hourglass figure with nice-sized boobs and wide hips, you are curvy! If you want to call yourself curvy, then nobody is stopping you! Skinny with curves, overweight with curves, who cares? Curves are curves! Many men love this body type, and many women are dying to have it. Curves are sexy, so embrace your body, and many people will notice. You are also beautiful, gorgeous!

Fat perhaps?

Skinny, Curvy, or Fat? Who Cares?

Fat chicks get a lot of flak, and I would know, because I used to be a fat chick! Many chubby chicks struggle with their body image as it is, and pestering them to lose weight, or calling them unattractive and ugly because you can is not helping, let alone helping them lose weight. Body shaming in general is not okay, and shouldn't be justified because they are "unhealthy". Are they unhealthy? Well, that should be taken up with their doctor. Being fat does not automatically cast you as ugly. Being fat does not define you as a person. Don't like being fat? Is it affecting your health? Well, a little hard work and dedication and you can turn that around! Regardless, don't hate yourself because of your body! You are beautiful as well. A unique, special person.

...or fit as f?

Skinny, Curvy, or Fat? Who Cares?

Well, congratulations! You put all that hard work and dedication to have that flat stomach, those muscles, and that smooth, toned body! Now that is something to be extra proud of! All that shows is that you take pride in what you look like and you work hard to maintain it. Don't hide it, flaunt it. Some people may find it intimidating, some may find it hot. All that matters is that you're happy, and that is what is beautiful. Some of us wish we could be toned like you!

...maybe thick?

Skinny, Curvy, or Fat? Who Cares?

You're not skinny? You're not straight up fat? Well you're in the middle of what many refer to as "thick"! Contrary to popular belief, people have preferences, and some of these preferences do not mark skinny as the ideal, and that's okay. You can have a bit of extra weight, and still look flippin' good! Women do have higher fat than men anyway. Be proud of this body! Many like their women thick as f anyway!

Skinny, Curvy, or Fat? Who Cares?

Well, what's the point? Why am I saying this to you? Well, the bottom line is that I am tired of us putting each other down, or blatantly shaming each other for what our bodies look like. This shaming is not good for anyone, and is just spreading negativity and hate. Imagine children, and imagine them having to growing up thinking they aren't worth anything because they are skinny, or because they are chubby. Shaming won't help them. Encouragement maybe, but bullying is just an asshole thing to do. Don't we have enough of that in the world already? Well, it's time to spread a bit of #bodypositivity. Are you skinny? Who cares? Are you fat? Who gives one? Curvy? Good for you! Toned? Keep doing you boo! Thick? Great! Sure people have "preferences", and everyone is entitled to these "preferences", but you're allowed to love yourself regardless of other's preference. No matter which body type, you're allowed to feel beautiful, and don't let society, or anyone, tell you different.

We are not promoting obesity, we are not promoting anorexia, we are promoting self love. Love yourself, no matter the current state of your body.

Who cares what your body looks like? What we need in this world is a little self love... <3 #loveyouself

Thanks for reading, and I hope this has opened your eyes a little. I poured my heart out on this one... If this gets positive reception, I may be compelled to do one on men, because a lot of men go through this same sort of thing, so stay tuned...
