Have you had a tonsillectomy? can you help?

I'm trying to find something to help my friend who had a tonsillectomy about a week ago, and is in pain. She is stuck in her room all day and is getting depressed, I sent her flowers earlier in the week and she said that helped her mood. Her doctor won't help her much and just gives her the run around. I've heard the procedure is more painful the older you are and she's 26. I'm just trying to get some advice that could help her, so anything would be great.

Here's what you do. Get like 10 movies. Make it a large variety from things like Disney movies and chick flicks to Lord of the Rings/Harry Potter, or even things like Jaws. Give her a huge selection. Then bring those to her house with popsicles :)
And watch them with her.
You can't really help with the pain, other than giving her a healthy distraction, and I know (because I'm sick) how torturous it is to be in your room by yourself for any extended length of time... it gets old FAST.

If she's anything like me or others I've known she will lose 12-15 pounds from being unable to eat. Knowing that should cheer her up lol.

There is nothing much her doc can do except give her pain meds. Gargling with saltwater (1 teaspoon of salt dissolved in 8 oz of water) can be VERY soothing.

Vicodin will be her best friend, that's about it.
