Many things are bad for us but we still do it.. it's sort of human condition. We downplay the bad and just think of the good... also the ironic thing is that many people who do eat healthy food mainly can still get very sick. I mean, you get people who don't smoke who get lung cancer.. people who don't eat junk food who get heart disease too.. so no one is ever really immune to getting serious illnesses regardless of how healthy they are. There's always risk. Sure eating lots of junk food is going to increase your chances but ultimately in the grand scheme of things there's nothing wrong with enjoying some junk food every now and then. It's also interesting to note that it's the same with germs and people who are so sensitive to bacteria. Those people are usually the ones who get infected with germs first cause their system isn't used to it. As a kid I had a friend who's mom was so OCD about germs and whatnot and guess what.. this girl was sick so often... more than those of us who had mothers who weren't so OCD about it and allowed us to play in playgrounds, sandpits and do other child things. So it's important to not be obsessive about these things cause it can backfire. Plenty of people who claim to live these perfectly healthy lives still ironically live unhealthy ones as they often restrict themselves and don't get the enough protein or nutrients.
I have no problem eating junk food every now and then and I weigh 49kg and am 5'7. So no one can preach to me about being over weight. I drink tons of water and do mild exercise when I can. But I don't deny myself a brownie or milkshake when the opportunity to have some arises. It's all about balance. I look at some of my friends who are chubby and who eat salads all the time.. then I look down at my plate of food with pasta and probably other unhealthy stuff and I'm like what is this sorcery.

I think business are financially motivated and so they dont care that much about the consumer on the ground.
Its up yo individuals to say No and vote with their money for healthier choices and not support businesses that destroy society's health. We have to choose to be healthier and support healthier restaurants

Junk food is addictive, convenient, and cheap. However, we can make a conscious effort to limit our junk food intake and perhaps even cut It out completely.
Because fat and sugar makes everything taste delicious. It just draws you in to get the rush of cheap thrills to the brain. Drugs, sex do the same thing. An addiction for certain.
Because they taste good, they are addictive. They are cheaper and more convenient
Because those bad foods hit the pleasure centers in your brain.
Because it feels good, and because when we where not civilized, food was scarce, so our brains evolved to want high sugar and high fat foods as often as it could get it. With out brain, feelings usually trump logic.
Junk food is much cheaper than healthy foods because the ingredients are mega cheap. So basically its all about the moolah.
Cause it's so good! How can you resist it?
Money... it's all about the money...
