Whey protein is meant to supplement your body with protein which is essential to build muscle mass. If you're looking to build muscle in your midsection then yes it would help repair damaged muscle tissue which would result in larger muscles. Everyone has abs, its just a matter of getting rid of the fat underneath to actually see it. If your sole desire is to get abs, the most effective method would be to get rid of the fat not trying to gain more ab muscle. Doing so will most likely simply make your belly bigger lol. Your abs are vanishing because you're gaining fat. What you should be trying to do is cardio (the most effective of which is called HIIT) and be in a caloric deficit. These two together will help get rid of your belly fat.
