Unhealthy goal? I want wake up at 11am and go to sleep at 3pm?

Question

This is my favorite time to be up at, but it is unusual and possibly unhealthy? I like staying up at this time because I love the night life and want to get a job at a club where I'd likely get home past 2am, in addition, I love to garden early in the morning before my neighbors get up and before the weather gets too hot and before my annoying, creepy/stalker neighbor gets home at 3:30pm... Also I prefer shopping really early to avoid the kids getting out of school and just to avoid crowds/traffic in general. My goals are to get a night club job and intern at a farm (which on their ad said the hours are very early)

So... it is unusual but is anything wrong with it health wise, etc? Also I don't drink... by club I mean a high class strip club... possibly just on the weekends because both jobs would be physically demanding. Dancing and farming are my two strange passions:), also this question is about the hours not about the jobs.

Yes it can be done. But it will take it's toll. People who work straight nights do it all the time. I did it myself for about 6 months straight. But after a while you will start going batty. You need the daylight. Not just for physical health but mental as well. And a few hours a day is not enough.

The other problem with this situation is, for the most part the world operates during daylight or "business" hours. Your body is naturally programed to sleep at night. This programing is almost impossible to change. After a couple of months of being up all night. Your body starts to wear down. You will find yourself going to bed earlier and earlier than your 3pm. This sounds great but is not sustainable.

You need to do things that can't be done at night. Shopping, doctors appointments, other errands. As well there will be family functions, friends, relationships. That will throw off your sleep patterns. If your pattern is affected just once it will take about a week to recover.
Then if you do the night shift four or five times a week. Your natural instinct is to be a day person on your days off. Then a night. then day. then night etc.

Your life becomes 24/7 exhaustion. Literally. So what you are considering can be done on the short term, but for a long extended period you will regret it.

Well I read some article a couple years ago that said people with insomnia and people who sleep in the daytime are likely to develop a lot of psychological issues. Insomniacs tend to become nymphomaniacs because it causes their sex hormones to go crazy. People who sleep in the daytime are more likely to become depressed or suffer from anxiety. The reason this article rang so true with me is because I knew a couple of girls who stayed up all night and ended up turning into sex-maniacs that couldn't control themselves. Then my friend worked a nightshift for years so he had to sleep all day and was incredibly depressed the whole time. Then when he quit that job and started sleeping at night all of a sudden he became the happiest person I know.

There's nothing wrong with that if it fits your life schedule! Plenty of doctors for instance have this schedule. I could never do it. I love the early morning like 5, I hate the late afternoon but I also hate being up past midnight. I would love to get up at 3 and start my day but I kinda like early evenings.
Anyway, only thing is daytime noises will keep you up and you could run risk of deficiencies I would assume. Just switch it up when you can

mmm you'll just have to get used to the new sleep cycle and it will have an affect on your mental health, probably not in a bad way but since you will be sleeping during the day time now when there is light and being active at night time where there is no light. either way your body will adapt and adjust just make sure you're taking care of yourself and actually getting all the sleep you need, otherwise yes it will be unhealthy for you.

I did that once kind of it was actually from 8 AM to 5-6 PM, but that was viable only during the winter due to the lack of external lights. This would not work out well during a season with lots of light unless you have proper window blinds that block all lights, as the feeling of tiredness and the regulation of sleep depends on the lack of light, as light inhibits the creation of melatonin which causes you to feel sleepy and make the body want to sleep. So if you are exposed to light as you sleep and a lack of light when you are awake, your body will be confused and sleep will not relax you.

how would you be able to wake up early and garden or work on a farm if you aren't getting up til 11am?

I don't think it sounds unhealthy I just think it sounds unrealistic. you can't work on a farm (which requires being at work around sunrise AND work at a club and working til 2am unless you plant only get about 4hrs of sleep

I think you should re-evaluate this plan

Having odd sleep schedules can really mess with you. Some people can pull it off, but a lot of times it's very hard to do.

You should really try to get all your sleep in one session.
