Why is it so hard to break the ice with women?

When you try to talk with women (especially in new York where I am from) it's like pulling teeth. They seem to ignore as easily as putting one foot in front of the other as they walk, and a lot of times when you are polite they just give you an evil look and keep it moving. Why is that?

they probably have a boyfriend or are married...and don't want to be approached in public like that...some girls don't want to meet a guy on the streets when its completely random and just all about the attraction...

they feel uplifted and have gratitude you found them attractive to approach them and stuff...but by reflex they're freaked out because they don't know you and don't know how to react...

most girls prefer meeting a great guy through networking, social events, school, etc...via friendship first...

its creepy when a random guy (even if he's hot or goodlooking doesn't matter) just comes up to you to make conversation and flirt...its just not expected and the common girl would never say yes to a date or give her phone number like that...

she could also just be in a hurry...

most of the time theyre just freaked out...

I don't know what kind of chicks you are around but that seems harsh. Lemme try to help. How old are the women that you are trying to pursue and what places are you going that you get these looks?

Usually on my way to work. I work in the Manhattan...in an office building. So on my way to the escalator I will give it a try if I run into someone. But in general it's just confusing how some of these same girls that wouldn't give you the time of day have no problem dating drug dealers, who they have kids with, then the guy gets caught and thrown into jail and not we got another mother who's man is incarcerated.

I don't know that seems very strange. If you get out a lot and do things (like hobbies) I would try to meet people in those settings. That way you already have something in common and its easier to break the ice. Like at a jazz club or art gallery or concert or something.

and where are you approaching these women? some places are better for conversation and flirting. so if you're hitting on random women on the sidewalk, you might have better luck at a bookstore or club.

Who cares? When you can't talk to one, *quickly* move on to one you can talk to. Don't waste time.
