Is my dad OK? Red face, shaking hands symptoms?

I lost a library book from school and asked my dad to keep a lookout. He got mad, complaining about how they're expensive, etc. I'm the youngest, so I've always been the baby of the family, my dad just recently is treating me like a grown up and I'm already used to it. I'm not emotional like my sisters, so I sighed and went on while he poked at me for "hhhhhhuuuhh-ing him." I didn't show visible signs that I was upset, nor was I. Sometimes dads can be ridiculous.

While the family was eating dinner, my dad's face got pink/red and he closed his eyes hard and his right hand which was supporting his head was trembling. I asked him what was wrong, he didn't answer. After he moved, I asked him if he was feeling alright and he said he's OK and just didn't eat anything and that he should've. I kind of teared up because he apologized earlier and which I did not reply, and he could've died right then. Anyway, what do these symptoms sound like?

Sounds like stress. Balancing work, family and one's own health simultaneously can really drain a person. The jerking in your father's hand is more than likely related to fatigue. From the situation you've presented, the fatigue caused what's known as a myoclonic jerk. When one is fatigued and ready to head to sleep, the heart and respiratory rates slow. The body can perceive this as dying and the brain starts sending stronger signals to the limbs, resulting in what you saw in your father. He just needs to destress and get a little more sleep. Medically, he'll be fine.

Could be anything but sometimes that happens to be maybe he is trying to quit drinking alcohol or smoking or something and is stressing out. Or he has anxiety and was getting all worked up.
