+1 yRemember the following, Dear; 1lb of fat it about 3500 calories. So if you cut out 500 calories a day, and burn an additional 500 calories a day, you'll drop 2lbs of pure fat per week. Also, start using MetRX brand protein shake mix. Replace a meal with it. Ideally, you want to intake protein immediately after working out. I liked to chocolate flavored ones so much, I had one after lifting, and another one for breakfast. GNC also sells a pint glass with a battery powered mixer as a lid - I highly recommend this. You can bring a packet of shake mix and you blender-cup, and just buy the milk at school and mix it right there for lunch. I prefer the taste with Skim milk, but Whole milk is fine, don't worry about the fat content, it OK. From the summer between 9th grade and 10th grade, until the start of 11th grade, I lost 45lbs of fat, added 18lbs of pure muscle - I went from not being able to run half a lap (1/16 of a mile) to running 20 miles a day, three days a week. This 'diet' works. Don't do ANY fad diets, no matter what ANYONE says. Do the things I mentioned above, and you will see fat melt off of your body. I did, and it was SO FAST, I couldn't believe it. Remember this too; Never use treadmills of any kind - go for REAL jogs, and climb REAL steps - I cannot stress this enough! Never use those type of machines, you DO NOT burn anywhere near the calories, and build NO muscle, as compared to actual training. Use wights - burning fat increases exponentially when you exercise you muscles with weight. I am now a U. S. Marine, so trust me, what I have told you will work 100%.

Can you define "quick"?

Asker+1 ylike in a month

OK. I wrote about this in a recent Take. But here are the basics:
Body weight gained or lost is going to come out of two things: you either lose water weight (quick, but limited) or you eat less calories than you burn (slow, steady, actual body mass loss).
Losing 20 pounds in a month is VERY aggressive, unless you are very overweight to begin with (you're not).
When you first start cutting calories, you will lose some additional weight initially due to loss of water from muscles and other tissues. I wouldn't count on more than 4-5 pounds at the outside. So the rest would need to come from actual body mass.
Let's be optimistic and say you have 15 lbs left. To lose 1 lb requires burning 3500 more calories than you take in. So we're talking 1/2 lb/day, or burning 1750 more calories per day than you eat.
Very likely, you would lose quite a bit of muscle doing something like that, and it would not be good for you. IMHO you need to allow more time. - +1 y
As a follow-up: typical weight loss rates are from 1-2 pounds per week, or 500-1000 calorie deficits/day. The "2 pounds/week" loss rate is itself considered pretty aggressive -- you could probably do it and not lose muscle if you add weight training and adequate protein to your intake, but it can be very hard to maintain that sort of deficit (hunger becomes a pretty big factor).
Asker+1 yso say I give myself three months watch my callories be carful what I eat and up my situps realisticly speaking how much do you think I can lose
- +1 y
Well, first of all, I'm assuming you want the weight to come out of body fat. Most people would rather keep muscle and lose the fat.
It's hard to say, without knowing your current body fat level. If you assume 25%, and you really kept tight control of calories, you could probably lose about 20 lbs in three months without losing muscle. But that would involve changing how much you eat on a week-by-week basis -- which could be pretty challenging. I'm just assuming body fat loss here, not water weight loss. That might be a bit extra.
More realistically, if it were me, I'd shoot for about a pound per week, or 12-14 pounds of loss in 3 months, plus water weight loss. Keep things simple.
Asker+1 yk thanks for the advice

The biggest mistake people make is not realizing weight gain or loss is a slow, steady process. You didn't get to 152 lbs overnight, and you won't lose 20 lbs overnight, either.
Crash diets may let you drop some weight fairly quickly, but they're nearly always not sustainable, and the weight comes back. Yoyo dieting is really not good for your health :)
Good luck! - +1 y
One more thing: generally speaking, IMHO teenagers shouldn't be terribly worried about their weight. For one thing, as a teen, you're aiming at a moving target. For another, your body needs nutrition to finish growing. That's important.
You might consider talking with a doctor or nutritionist about some ideas for this, as well.
666 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. Try Fully Raw or Raw till 4, they're both great for your health. There's not diet that will make you feel as good as you do on these diets. Fully raw is entirely fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds, but you have to keep your fat consumption really low. Raw till 4 is like Fully Raw except you can have cooked vegan food after 4 o'clock. Raw till 4 is easier to maintain, and it's what I'm doing. I started at 190 and now I'm about 175, and still losing. YouTube Fully Raw Kristina for more information on raw veganism and Freelee the Banana Girl for more information on Raw till 4.
If you want quicker results though try a juice cleanse if you have a juicer. You just can't have as many fruit on this diet because your body needs fibre to properly convert sugar into energy instead of fat. Juice cleanses work great, but you need to have mostly veggies instead of mostly fruit. Watch the documentary called Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead for more information on juice cleanses.
Good luck :)01 Reply

Sugar makes you gain weight like crazy. Drink a lot of water, also I dont know if this is relevant to weight loss but bananas slim the face.
Drink a warm glass of water before your meal, your brain takes 20 minutes to realize it is full, so by doing this you will eat the correct amount.
Dont eat 3 hours before you sleep. If you have to, eat a food that boosts your metabolism.
When I want to lose a few extra pounds these are the tricks I use along with a bit more exercise and normally I drop a few pounds
Ps bh drinking water and avoiding salty foods you will reduce the amount of water weight.
I know this sounds bad but it really works because I dont have a lot of weight to lose so when I want to get to 94lbs or roughly 42kg, I use these.
Good luck~01 Reply

Wii fit.
Wii Fit (Wiiフィット Wī Fitto?) is a video game designed by Nintendo's Hiroshi Matsunaga[4] for the Wii home video game console.[5] It is an exercise game consisting of activities using the Wii Balance Board peripheral. As of March 2012, Wii Fit has held the position of third best selling console game not packaged with a console, with 22.67 million copies sold.[6]
The game uses a unique platform peripheral called the Wii Balance Board, on which the player stands during exercise. The game features yoga, strength training, aerobics, and balance games. Matsunaga described the game as a "way to help get families exercising together".[7] Wii Fit has been used for physiotherapy rehabilitation[8][9] and has been adopted by various health clubs around the world. Additionally, the game has been used in nursing homes to improve posture in the elderly. The game has received generally positive reviews, despite criticism over the lack of intensity in some of its workout activities.

It is not crazy. It is a 31 day program to help you get off sugars without being stupid. You don't have to buy anything (i guess the book) otherwise it is about eating well and right. And after the 31 day program you get into a maintenance mode that is not hard.
I travel all the time and I follow it. i am 6'7" and weight 275lbs. I am in great shape, exercise hard and have not had issues doing that with this program. Sometimes when I am in the field, i can't follow it as well as i would like, but those times I am burning thousands of calories a day.04 Reply

And the poster below that said it is going to take some time is right. Can you lose 20 lbs in two or three months... yes. Perhaps even 7 to 10 in the first month, but probably not 20. You can do it!
Asker+1 ythanks il definatly try my best

Thank you - downloaded the app! Last time I gave up sugar and started drinking more water + exercising more, I felt great and did lose weight quickly, thank God.
You're pretty close to the ideal weight for your height. Make your target 10 pounds, not 20. If you are walking for exercise, change to jogging and then running, as it will burn more calories in the same amount of time.
Then examine your diet. You may need to adjust portion sizes, cut out snacks (or change the snacks to something with fewer calories), or address certain types of foods that have high calorie density. I was severely overweight and lost a lot of weight mostly through portion control, greatly reducing carb and processed food intake, and mild exercise.
But keep in mind the closer you get to your ideal weight for your frame, the slower the weight comes off.00 Reply
+1 yStop sugar, powdered drinking and avoid carbs. Try to drink 2L of water per day eat your veggies and fruits. Since I have introduced vanilla soy milk, tea and almonds in my diet I'm not even craving for sugary things that much. Your brain just have to get into the habit the hardest thing is whn you're in parties or having a drink outside with friends. Good luck

+1 yIf you're not grossly overweight (400 pounds) 20 pounds should be lost in no less than 7-10 weeks. They say not to lose more than 2 pounds in a week, and 1 pound a week on average is best.
As for how, there are a lot of debates over that. Everyone is different, and it will take you trying different things (not fad diets, or starvation, or hurting yourself to do it, mind you, but I mean different techniques). Maybe talking to your doctor might help.00 Reply
Anonymous(25-29)+1 yI'm 5'6" And 145lbs! I'm trying to lose the same amount as you. I'd suggest each meal fill half of your plate with veggies. Don't eat junk food. (To make it easier cut out one thing at a time, I started with fizzy drinks) Drink a glass of water before and after each meal. Also drink water throughout the day. Continue exercising as well!! Good luck my friend!!

+1 yWell, there are ways. I learned them in wrestling. But they are VERY unhealthy. It's a gradual process, too. It does not happen overnight. Sorry but 20lbs could take at least 3 months.
However, change up you lifestyle. Make sure you're getting a lot of green veggies and stay away from carb stuff (bread or dough). Lift weights for exercise or do sprints.00 Reply
+1 yYay for vegetarians! Weight loss centers more around diet than on exercising but it's good to do both. Cut down calories and avoid processed food. Sit ups won't do much when it comes to weight loss. I would do cardio with a mixture strength training
