A lot of people have wrong ideas about the requirements of being a model. There are surely some industry trends or whatever but you dont need to be any type of girl, and anyway they all talk about a particular type of fashion modelling, which is by no means the only type of modelling and probably not the one you'll be going into at the end of the day. I have a friend who does modelling for advertisements and underwear modelling! I have a few other friends in the field but none I'm super close to.
There are kind of two ways in: you get yourself hooked up with an agency or you hire a photographer to take photographs for you. Either way you need to build a portfolio of pics! Then you send it off to various places - I don't know where exactly thats further in than I ever got lol. But yeah. Doing it yourself, a portfolio will probably run you a little under $100. I don't know what being in an agency is like. After a while you'll get a reputation and people will start contacting you instead of the other way around - it took my friend about a year to get to that stage, and she was already flying off over euorpe for shoots :P
You need to get used to like what modelling is before even going in, is the thing. Photographers will help you along but you'll be expected to know the stuff, y'know. How to pose and so on. Agencies usually teach you this as part of their thing, you can get independant classes. Anyone I've met just learned from the internet though lol.
Anyway yeah that's about all I know :) Even though it sort of happens pretty quickly, I think it takes a long time for it to become a full-paying job. My friend I was talking about, even though she gets flown places for shoots and all that, she doesn't make a living off of it. That's how it is in any freelance work though, it takes a while to get working regularly. So she has a kind of a 'day job' for the time being, so you might need to prepare for that

Best way to become a model is enter pageants. They usually have talent agencies that scout those kind of events. As far as physical requirements go you would be surprised at the wide range of people that can become models. However your looks do impact what you will be modeling. An example would be a bombshell modeling Victoria's Secret clothing line and then a person that is relatable to the average consumer molding a generic store brand clothing line. Hope that helps!
You see all kinds of models, all shapes and sizes really... All I can say is MOST are GENERALLY pleasing to the eye.
Most model pics are actually touched up, lighting, enhancements and so on. Just have confidence, and know how to pose for pictures.

well i personally dont like the idea of becoming a walking hanger but id love to be photographed professionally for my body, hair or face, not for the clothes i wear.
if u can get into the industry tho, i also have an underlying respect for you because it is bloody difficult for a girl to do so.Beats me. I do some modeling to save pictures for a portfolio for theatre (and I guess more modeling)?
I use this website, it helps with connecting with different photographers and models.
https://www.modelmayhem.com/I always understood that modeling is an extremely difficult occupation to get into, like being a sports star for a guy.
I'm too ugly to be a model xD and you must be superficially near perfect... taller the better, hair/skin flawless, and though the "super-skinny" trend is in the decline you still must be lean/fit.
I could be a model
Cause I'm 103 lbs and I think I look good
The only problem is I'm 5'2"
That's the downside :(if you like being manipulated then go for it
