Weight loss/Joining the Army?

I want to lose weight in order for me to join the Army... my weight currently is 355, my height is 5'7.. Does anyone know how much I need to lose in order to join?

I think you need to change your life style completely. Change the way you eat. Find a personal trainer and dietitian. Always active, sit down as little as possible and try Hip-hop abs :) It's really fun to lose weight while dancing. Also, try picking up swimming, it's very low impact, so it is easy on your joints. I don't recommend running until you get into your 200's

Close to 200 pounds you need to lose. you can achieve it but it will take TIME and you gotta really work out. You're very overweight.

gosh that's obese. although i like big girls as i told you in your other question, but 355 is really obese and dangerous for yur health.

you need to be somewhere like 200 lbs, and that needs more than a year basically.

i've lost 130 pounds in the past by eating less and less and walking 1 hr everyday. start lowering the quantities as a first step, like 200 calories less during the first months.

At 5'7," and at the age of 21, your maximum body weight is 161. Your max body fat percentage is 32%. If you are heavier than the max weight, they will most likely do the "rope and choke." They'll measure your neck and your waist.

Can you do 20 pullups?
If yes , you're ready.
If no , you're not.

Every single disciplined service require it's service members to at least be somewhat good at pull ups and no not the "crossfit" marlarkey kipping whatever. Proper hanging pullups.

Well, both me and the question asker are females, so those aren't relevant to us lol

Females in the Marines are required to do either 8 pull ups or the flexed arm hang for 70 seconds (I can do this)

Navy, It's not required for females at all, unless you are going for special ops. I'm not sure pull ups are required for males as well.
