Girls, bleeding between periods?

Okay so I'm on birth control and this is my 3rd month. I've never had bleeding between periods before and I'm a little concerned. The past 2 days I've taken my pill about 3 hours late and I'm wondering if maybe this could be the cause of the bleeding? My next period isn't due for 2 more weeks so I'm definitely sure it isn't that. This is the second day the bleeding has occurred. It isn't a lot but it feels like I have my period, with a bit of cramping. Any and all help is appreciated!!

Your body may need to adjust to the medicine. Also if you aren't continuously taking the pill at the same time every night then it won't be as effective and you run the risk of pregnancy. If it continues visit your obgyn

Bleeding between periods (called "spotting") is very common the first 6 months after starting birth control due to hormonal changes (which can also cause the cramps).

The same happened to me when I started my depo shot... it's just spotting or an extended period.

You should check with your doctor. But it can also be caused from fibroid cyst. Or your doctor may need to change the type of birth control. But definitely talk to your doctor.
