I am a Vegan mainly because of my health, I have watched real life videos of what happens to your intestine and stomach when you eat meat daily and its just grossed the hell out of me. Eating meats makes fat stick to your intestine and blocks a part of it, just a fraction but it adds up eventually. I am not against anyone who eats meat as I am not doing it to "save the world" or anything, I am just not a fan of meat and am having a much healthier life without it.
I like bacon too much to be a vegetarian. It has already been said that humas are naturally omnivores. However we eat a lot more meat now because of the raising of livestock. I don't agree with the big industries treatment of these animals. Its inhumane. The majority of meat I get is from local farmers though.
I know people who are, I personally couldn't do it. I like meat, not like for every meal every day but it is good. I like to wear leather too, it's durable and I like how it looks. I think it is hypocritical for vegans to drive cars though, seeing as how gasoline is made up of dead dinosaurs and such. I really don't care though, if that's how some one wants to live then more power to em.
I'm not going to listen to someone who thinks plankton are plants. Do your research next time you want to be a smart ass so you don't end up just looking like an ass.
We need protein. Being a vegetarian is generally bad for health and is usually embarked upon as a fleeting social point that serves only to annoy people around them. I don't date vegetarians because their conversation gets tedious quickly.
Yup - anemia... that's what happened to me. Despite all the supplementation... there is only one complete plant protein... in most cases you have to mix a plant protein with a complex carb in order to have a "complete protein." It is a LOT harder to meet your nutritional needs without meat, but it can be done. It's not so much the protein but the vitamin B's (helps metabolize protein) and calcium that is deficient in a vegetarian diet.
There are professional bodybuilders who are vegetarian (not vegan, but vegetarian). This allows one to eat whey protein. It's naturally occurring in milk, which is why vegetarians can have it while vegans can't. I love whey, I find that it is a great source of protein (I also have tons of different kinds, I stay away from soy though). Although it would be difficult, one would theoretically be healthier if they were vegetarian, no doubt. The only problem is the effort you gotta put in.
There in lies the problem. People know very little about nutrition in the first place and then they go mess with it. It is really surprising how many people I see who are suffering from malnutrition when they could easily afford to address the issue.
Secondly, this is largely just a social issue that people want to go one up on other people. It has very little to do with food and lot to do with smug superiority.
I just say to each thier own I mean I loovvee meat just as much as the next guy but I'm also respective to vegatarians and vegans if I'm having a party at my place I'm shore to have a few vegatarian dishs for my friends...
WeaponZero, even though I strongly disagree with you, I respect the way you present your position. Here you make a fair point, but my issue is with the logic behind you making it. The implication is that unless one is willing to change their lifestyle to fight every political and social wrong in the world is an unfair. If anyone is willing to make any kind of personal sacrifice in order to help change the world for the better I think they should be commended, not called a hypocrite.
i like how the only possible answer meat eaters can select makes us sound like meat eating tyrants. stupid question, you're obviously like 15 or something.
Don't get me wrong, I love animals but I don't see the point in becoming a vegetarian because whether you eat meat or not, animals are still going to be killed for food. Not to mention it's the cycle of life, so eating animals isn't exactly a sin.
I became a vegetarian about 5 years ago , after I watched a you tube video called Meet your meat. I don't agree with the inhumane way they are killed. And I have no desire to eat animals , its something I can live without.
enough with this hippie birdseed tofu eating bs. human beings are animals who need protien just like any other animal. if you want to enjoy your birdseed good for you, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to eat a burger infront of you.
i used to eat meat and I loved it! but from religious belief, I couldn't carry it on my conscience. I believe it's murder but I know others have other ideas. So I quit meat. live and let live!
I'm not a huge fan of pigs, but cows belong in my belly. When I see a cow field on the side of the road I don't even see cows, I see T-bones and Porterhouses
I simply cannot be a vegetarian. Since I exercise, I have to maintain my protein intake, daily. Egg is my staple food. My physique will get affected if I turn a vegan.
It really depends on what kind of meat you eat vs what kind of vegetarian one is. The average vegetarian will have a leaner diet with more vitamins and minerals. The average omnivore will have much more protein along with necessary creatine and cholesterols (for testosterone and other hormones). If someone is smart and resourceful, either way could be made to be just as healthy as the other. The extra price of meat and vits would cancel out with the WheyProtein the vegetarian would need to buy.

Umm gasoline isn't made up of dead dinosaurs. Its made up of undecayed plants called plankton.

LOL
smartass FAIL.

Educate yourself, or stop surrounding yourself with dumb bitches
Well there is tofu which has a decent amount of protein in it. But which would you rather have a nice flame roasted chicken or sh*tty tofu?
Charming. Thanks for providing such eloquent confirmation
My mom is vegetarian [ she eats fish if that counts ]
and we found out this year that she has a low iron supply in her body.
now she's on more pills--great.

I'm a vegetarian because I saw a film that totally opened my eyes.
After seeing that I could not be a part of the consumerism that causes such horrible and plain disgusting treatment of animals.
What movie was it?
Earthlings.
I could show you similar movies about the working conditions of the people who make the clothes you wear.
What do you mean?

I think he means that the clothes you wear could have been made by poorly treated children in 3rd world countries. It's not just animals.

I just like the taste of meat really. Like WeaponZero said, humans are omnivores.
We are supposed to eat animals. :p
enough with this hippie birdseed tofu eating bs. human beings are animals who need protien just like any other animal. if you want to enjoy your birdseed good for you, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to eat a burger infront of you.
I'm a vegetarian. I recently became one. I have nothing against people eating meat, but I just can't eat them
Totally understand!!!
Humans have eaten meat for as long as our species has existed. So, it's only natural.
i used to eat meat and I loved it! but from religious belief, I couldn't carry it on my conscience. I believe it's murder but I know others have other ideas. So I quit meat. live and let live!

I picked D.
The reason being? www.westonaprice.org
It's healthier to eat meat, but I don't force vegetarians/vegans to do it. As long as you're not an asshole, I'll get along with you.

I'm not one because I belive we were made to eat meat and plants but not just one. So ya but I am fine with people who do only eat plants.
I have some friends that are vegetarians but myself I only eat white meat, but for me it just because I don't like red meat at all.
I'm already lactose intolerant, so I have to have my meat. I just have to. I've always had meat since I was little.
