Weigh loss.. HELP?

I want to lose weigh, like around 5 kg maybe... Thing is I dont know what do to!!! I would like to lose it within 1 month and a half if possible because I am going on a holiday and I want to look nice on a bikini. I've been avoiding sweets which are my weakness and I've been working out. I am considering the option of consuming protein, is that good? I mean I am kind of chubby, all my fat goes to my upper hips and tummy. Is consuming protein good if you are still not skinny? if so, is it better to consume it before I work out or before?

also, I dont know if you've heard about dr atkins products? Do you think that if I take those they would help to control my sweet cravings without making me fat? Is very hard for me to not eat sweets, so I need something and Atkins has chocolate bars I think
