Do I need a psychologist?

I feel like my brain keeps focusing on bad things , even when there are no bad things at all and I never seem to relax. I keep thinking about the stupidest things imaginable literally all day and care about the tiniest little things that could go wrong... I know i need help but would a psychology be able to help me without giving me medication? I dont want to have more things to worry about and what I've read about these kind of medication makes me not want them.
