Pineapples can help repair muscle damage. Stretching, really stressing the muscles a bit right after you're done working out can help. In addition, it's important to get some protein and carbs in after your workout. In essence, your workout means you're tearing your muscles down. So, to build them back up, you need to give your body the building blocks it needs to repair the muscle. Eating quickly after a workout--just a healthy snack is well enough, depending on the severity of the workout--will allow your body to get a jump start on healing, reducing soreness the next day.
Pineapple is good for the Vit C for healing, along with bromelain to help absorb protein.00 Reply

From someone who works out daily.. I'm guessing your just starting so ice is good but the most important part is stay on your routine workout schedule fight the sore muscles and keep working out and your body will adjust and the soreness will stop and you will never really get to sore from then on out unless you tear threw some excersices

Muscle soreness usually happens due to the build up of lactic acid and to reduce this drink lots of water after exercise as lactic acid is soluble. You should also gradually increase the difficulty of your exercise to build up your stamina and get you body used to it.
Hope it helped!01 Reply

+1 yNo idea how to help. My right upper back, shoulder, and neck. Have been in horrible pain for over 3 months now.

Everyone will just keep saying,"go see a doctor." Though I don't want to because I don't trust them. Every time I have seen a doctor over any kind of physical pain I'm in. They keep telling me everything is fine and they can't figure out what is wrong.
They couldn't figure out why I kept getting walking pneumonia, why my heart started burning for 2 days and having a heart rate of 123 at rest, why I keep getting these horrible sharp pains, etc. The list goes on and on. So I seriously don't believe a doctor can figure out what's wrong with my muscles.

i believe you're required to take breaks, at least 2, by law and employment labor forces, or else it's illegal. don't quote me lol.
- +1 y
if they fired you then you have cause to sue them for probably what would be a whole lot more money than you'd make working there the next 5 years.
you are legally allowed to take breaks, actually I think you're SUPPOSED to take them no matter what, because its the law. so don't be scared to speak up, if they realize they're breaking labor laws then they will be happy you mentioned it. - +1 y
management that allows these business ethics and bad habits need to be put in their place. now you probably won't want to take appropriate action because you really need this job, but if you can, try leaving an anonymous tip to your state's labor department or the better business bureau, try not to let this stand.
- +1 y
im sure breaks are not required in all states, but damn near most, so check with your local laws first.
- +1 y
"Neither federal nor Georgia laws require employers to give breaks to hourly, part-time workers. If an employer chooses to provide a short break, the Fair Labor Standards Act requires him to pay workers during this time. Employers do not have to pay workers for any meal breaks longer than 30 minutes." That's what I found, and even though I work hourly the only two days when don't work is on the days I have school. The other 5 days I'm working and it's usually overtime with no breaks. :T
- +1 y
yeah i read up on Georgia laws, well if that is your state and its in the fine print, then im sorry lol. you can always still ask for breaks though. even if its just a short 5 minute break to give your back and feet some rest, thats understandable. if management is a bitch, then do what every employee does, take breaks behind their backs lol.
- +1 y
if you work 39.5 hours a week, you're still a part-time employee with no full-time benefits, isn't that just bullshit? lol. but hey, when it comes to the law, everything is exact and precise. they won't bump you up to 40 hours, they will damn make sure you stay in the part-time zone and milk you as much as they can while they give other people the full-time opportunities. this is usually when people have had enough bullshit and either demand a raise/promotion/or quit.
- +1 y
just take breaks behind their backs, it's not hurting you, them, or the business, as long as shit is still getting done on time.
2.7K opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. A mix of cryo and heat therapy meaning go into the shower and do a mix of hot water on the sore area and then switch to cold and keep doing that every 5-10 minutes. You can also do it by taking a hot shower and then when you get out use a very cold ice pack, you get the general idea though a mix of hot and cold.

Personally though I just suffer through it I love the DOMs affect.02 Reply374 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. One of my running partners, who was also a personal trainer swore by mustard. He'd pop mustard packages saying that it would help break up the acid buildup.

You can buy a portable icepack at riteaid or walmart. You can refreeze them. They also have the icy hot packs but those are one time use only for bruises and swells.

Yes! I have to be hurting after the gym, if I'm not I'll work until I feel pain! I'm guessing you're not at all?
- +1 y
I can understand that! When I say I'm masochist, not as in deliberately hurting myself, but gym wise yes I crave the feeling! I'd recommend in your own time do some running at the gym and squats to strengthen your legs, at the gym! It'll help you a lot at work! :) eat high glucose energy foods to reduce your tiredness in your legs too!
- +1 y
You don't even need a gym! Even just running outside, 20 mins a day will help :) You'll be fine, just relax!
- +1 y
your choice! even 3 days a week is just as good
- +1 y
You could walk too! even squats! like 20 every night or so and just increase the amount of reps you do when you don't feel it in your legs after a while!
- +1 y
no way ! it will strengthen your legs! so you'll get used to it.

Also, if you fide your muscles are always tired and sore after a workout or being on your feet for an extended period of time - especially if they should be used to it since it's something you do all the time - try taking magnesium supplements. Be careful though, because magnesium can affect your ability to absorb iron, so if you can it's best to try to get both minerals from food sources.
- +1 y
Yes, I know that... that's why I said "or being on your feet for an extended period of time". Point still stands tho... if whatever it is you do for work is something you do regularly, you shouldn't be sore after since your body should be used to it... so if you are, there's a good chance you're experiencing a slight deficiency in magnesium, iron or another essential nutrient.
- +1 y
But what if you're not given anytime to eat? What if you don't get those sort of breaks? oatmeal and an apple isn't going to last me from 8 (which is when I leave home since my ride drops me off early so they can get to work on time) and 5 (which is when I should clock out but I usually clock out later because the guy who works after I do doesn't come around until 6).

Oh OK. Do you have a tub at home? Take a warm water bath and put chamomile salt in the water. Let me give you the name a little later once I get home. You have to lie in there for at least 20 mins.

Also, if you can fit a regular gym routine in your crazy schedule, trust me, it actually gives you energy and even makes you a superwoman. :) I will give you the name of the salt later. I promise.
