Why got my period late?

I was suppose to start 5 days ago but nothing I had no cramping no loss of appetite or any of my PMS symptoms. I had intercourse yesterday and I woke up this morning with little bit of blood like I'm about to start. But why so late? Could the intercourse have triggered the bleeding? I'm regular and usually heavy but this month I guess came late

Scratch that I had little bit of cramping during the days I was suppose to start my period but wasn't bad like I normally do.

You can never be perfectly regular in your periods for your whole life and it's not surprising that the symptoms vary. It depends on way too many things and things we tend to overlook like your state of mind (especially if you've been quiet troubled lately) for example. It could also be just random hormonal changes.
I wouldn't worry about only 5 days late. I've known people who were more than 10 days late and even weeks and they were just fine in the end.

Can a late period give worse cramp then you'd normally have? I'm experiencing cramps but it's radiating to my legs, and my period isn't heavy

I think I've once heard that they are linked.
For my personal case, each time I have late periods my cramps are worse

It's normal, little bleedings are a consequences of cramps.
