Does this sound like a good way to lose weight?

My long term goal to become more firm, eat healthier and lose 50 lbs of fat. The weight I'm at is 230 lbs, it fluctuates between 10-15 lbs every month for some reason. My weight is 5'6. According to my body mass index, this is considered "Obese". This extra weight has caused me problems in the bedroom, with self esteem and self image. Would eating healthy 1700 calorie daily help with with? Also I'm considering doing light walking or aerobic tapes daily 45-60 minutes a day. About 3x a week I'm also wanting to partake in something different like swimming, rowing, biking, jogging, elliptical trainer, hiking up hills for about 20-30 minutes at a target rate of 70-75%. If that is too hard, the other option I'm choosing is interval training with cardio. Example is like 2 minutes of brisk walking with 3 minutes of jogging. Definitely I'm also considering strength training 4X a week alternating between upper and lower body with some type of stretching like yoga
