I'm 20 and I'm getting braces?

I never got the chance to have braces on when I was a young teenager, as my mother couldn't really afford them. But now I'm 20 and I'm earning my own money, so I am getting braces put on. I'm sick of having crooked teeth! I also have an overbite and I have to have surgery to correct it.

I don't have a boyfriend, but I'm looking. Is a guy going to care that I have braces on my teeth at my age?

Will I have any problems with kissing?

the only issue with kissing and braces is when you get rubber band contraptions put in (top to bottom row of teeth and sometime crisscross) during the 2nd year to fix that overbite. just take them out and throw them away before kissing because they get in the way and can snap, hurting you or the person you're kissing. just be careful when kissing and go slow until you get the hang of not nicking your partner with a mouth of metal

one last thing, someone once told me they got their braces stuck on their boyfriend's braces while kissing. I've only rarely heard of that happening so just be careful :) especially if the guy has braces too

i never had a problem kissing...i got braces...for almost 5 years..still has it on.. I had 2 braces since the 1st didn't work out. It'll be fine don't worry

i would rather a girl with braces than bad teeth. but you really shouldn't have a problem. at first you will, but once you get used to braces you shouldnt.
