I'm finally starting school next month so I'll have access to my school's gym and my sister's. :) Can't wait! Have any tips for machines or exercises to tone up and get lean muscle?
Thanks.
-30-60 minutes of cardio a day.Your best options are jump roping, swimming, elliptical trainer and running.make sure to do this at least 5 days a week with 1 rest day.
-Make sure to do strength training 2-3x a week.Resistance training, weight training, pilates or calisthenics.
-No cokes, fruity juices or sugary drinks.Water can be an amazing friend.
-Get at least 8 hours of sleep. There is a correlation between sleep and weight lose/gain.
-Do not eat 2-3 hours before bed. There is no particular time to stop eating but you should avoid eating 2-3 hrs before bedtime.
-More fruits and vegetables on your plate, less fatty unhealthy foods.
-I know this is cliche, but if you have an iPhone or iPod Touch, you could download some free workout apps.My friends and I personally downloaded the "daily ab workout" "daily butt workout" and "daily arm workout" not to mention there are a few free logs in the app store.
-Try starting a running program.I do the Womens Health Magazine running to lose weight program,it's a 6 week program and takes only a few minutes. It's intervals, perhaps start a program AND do a regular cardio workout.
-Log your food.If you're someone who feels guilty for eating certain foods you will probably benefit from this.Writ everything you eat down, then if you find you ate something unhealthy, look for healthy alternatives s to what you could have eaten.
-Treat yourself every now and then.

Thank ya. :D I finally have my measurements so now I know exactly where I wanna be.
Don't starve yourself but try and eat healthier than you normally do. Eat fruits and vegetables the most. But, you can cheat for breakfast! Eat whatever you would like and 4 hours later eat a healthier lunch. Try not to eat dinner anywhere of 3 hours going to sleep. Exercise, exercise, exercise! Don't overdo yourself, and start out low and exceed your way up.
-Avoid beverages that are not water, it can really make a difference.
-When your watching a t.v show, so crunches or exercises during the commercials.
-ALWAYS eat breakfast, it is the most important meal
-only eat 3 meals a day, try not to snack as much.
Hope this helped!
I know this is already a week old, but nonetheless.
Unless you're tiny, 1,000 calories a day is way too low. If you keep this up, eventually it will catch up to you, you'll be tired all day and your metabolism will slow down. Read more: link
To build the leanest muscle you need to overeat. I know most girls aren't that serious about it and no matter how much science backs it up they still cut calories and try to gain muscle. Not physically possible. Your body only dedicates food to muscle building once it has satisfied it's own upkeep.
To get lean muscle, fitness enthusiasts go on cutting and bulking regimens. Cutting = low calorie, lots of cardio, and some weightlifting in an effort to lose fat while minimizing muscle loss. No matter what you're going to lose muscle doing this, but the idea is to lose lots of fat while only losing a little muscle. Bulking = Overeating a bit, weightlifting 5-6 days a week heavily, minimal if any cardio. Here the idea is to gain as much muscle while only gaining a little fat. If you're maximizing your muscle gains you're going to gain a little fat.
As far as how fast will you lose weight: Figure out your calories burned per day. There are plenty of online counters. If I recall correctly 1 lb of fat is 3500 calories. So if you cut 500 calories a day you'll lose about a pound a week.
you won't be able to loose all that weight through one exercise because what happens is your body gets used to the exercise and thne won't burn off as much so ideally you need a variety of exercise or something like ciruit traing to benefit the most or maybe rotate the exercises round so your body doesn't become to used to one exercise

You need to eat around 1800 calories. Any lower than that then your body will fight against you to lose the weight, or put it all RIGHT back on later. Just make sure you eat whole grain, protein, and healthy fats, while spanning out the meals every 2 hours (small meals) and not eating 3 hours before bed.
Good luck, pm if you need more instructions.
And when you lose 15 lbs you will want to lose 10 more... be careful with the "weight" goal. I did it last year & I really regret it. Becoming anorexic and eating under your daily requirements is a very foolish thing to do.
whatever you do don't end up looking like the girl in the ad next to your question. :P
I don't see the ad haha. is she like grossly fat or thin?
Nope. Don't see that ad.
haha vera de milo he/she was called
I think I'm pretty safe then...
I lost 10 pounds in less than a month... I ate less at a meal and more often... so small portions... but ONLY eat when you are hungry... more than just a little...but not overly hungry... :)
I workout A LOT! and found that running alone is not going to get what I want lol. try the Women's Health exercise plans. I just bought the "BIG BOOK OF EXERCISE" from them and its like the workout bible ok! lol if you pushed yourself you could easily tone up and lose that weight in a month
Try birkam yoga.. and just stick to veggies and fish..I don't know why you need to lose weight, you look like you have a rockin body to me..
Keep your calories low and don't forget to wear cute booty shorts in the gym
Use this diet link
not sure if its possible, but do high intensity workouts of both cardio and weights
Yoga, swimming, and drinking water.
run a lot and don't eat.
Yay another already thin girl who thinks she's fat.
I disagree.
Nowadays, with all of the rolls of fat walking around.. you can never be too skinny
Wow,another fatass who thinks everyone should be fat
Actually being too skinny is just as unhealthy as being too fat, because your body is not getting what it needs to survive.
I wasn't trying to be a bitch or anything. I was more pointing to the fact that so many thin girls think they're bigger, and as Southern Belle said - it's just as unhealthy to be underweight as it is to be overweight. Sorry if I sounded like I was attacking you.
So unless your profile picture is of someone else, you really aren't overweight in the slightest.
And thanks Evangelina - I can always count on you to boost my self-confidence :)
I know you weren't. It's just that I know my weight and my body and I know that I want to be thinner. I'm not near being underweight. And my picture is of me.
You're silly. lol
