    Warming up is crucial to preventing injuries. Not getting into boring details, but in short terms, attuning your brain to physical activity by warming up sharpens your reflexes - the best example is when you are about to misstep and twist your ankle, you reflexively readjust your weight and avoid it, that sort of reaction is heightened when you've warmed up.

    That's one of the benefits, there are of course many others, especially concerning performance, coordination and blood supply, but the key one is injury prevention.

    Also, on a similar note, you must never EVER stretch before an exercise, stretch afterward. Stretching a muscle massively decreases its strength output for about half an hour before it slowly picks up again. Always, ALWAYS stretch *after* your workout.

    Yes, especially before, or you risk torn muscles. Especially in cold weather. After a workout is not so important, but can prevent cramping improve agility.

    because when you work out your heart begins to pump faster and more blood begind to circulate so if you just abruptly stop your heart continues to pump that extra blood to your muscles but since your muscles aren't moving like they were before the blood begins to pool in the muscles. Then you don't get enough blood in your brain and vital organs so you begin to feel all dizzy , groggy, nauseus and there isn't enough oxygen going to the brain and then you pass out.

    Yes. You warm up to get your muscles prepared to do whatever it is you will do to work out, and you cool down to get your heart rate down. If you don't warm up, then you could be in extreme pain or pull a muscle. If you don't cool down then you could feel like you have a sort-of heart burn, but you can't take pills to get rid of it. Well, I guess you don't HAVE to, but its most definitely a good idea.
