drinking soda doesn't really cause that much weight gain especially because they say for every soda you drink you're supposed to drink a bottle of water and your already drinking 4 or 5 bottles of soda a day which is just about the same amount of water you're supposed to hav e a day. so youd be OK without flushing out soda in your diet
also, choose healthier sodas such as what I've been doing (coke 0, pepsi 0, diet coke) I know they don't taste the same but they do help with caloires and carbs (sugars as well) sugars are the number one cause of weight gain, so if you cut out the amount of sugars your getting, ull be better off. you don't have to cut out how much soda you drink, just drink healthier sodas
as for walking, yes it should help but just because your walking to and from school doesn't mean its gonna cause weight loss. try walking a mile every day or w/e set up an exercise plan for yourself without over exerting yourself (theres weight loss and there's stupidity) lol. but to answer your question yes, walking can cause weight loss

Weight management is simple. If you burn more energy than you take in, you will lose weight.
If you burn less energy than you take in, you will gain weight.
Find out how much energy, fat and protein your body needs to sustain itself and make sure you have a little less energy and fat everyday than that amount. Try to keep the protein up though.
Every time your drop a kilo you will require less energy, so keep monitoring it until you've reached your goal weight. By that time you will have a good understanding without having to continually watch what you eat.
Soda is liquid candy. Drinking the recommended water for the day will help. Walking is great, but remember: it takes 20 min for the body to warm up before it can burn fat. Muscle weighs more than fat, and burning fat builds muscle as building muscle burns fat.
yeah good for you for cutting out soda I heard its one of the worst things you can drink. and a half hour of exercise a day is reccommended so you are going above that. make sure you don't overeat and you should be good
you can lose weight if you keep it consistent and may be even introduce more cardio.

Soda alone might work. A buddy of mine lost about 10lbs by switching to diet soda. I like water, I don't miss soda. The longer you're away from it the less you want it.
But hey, walk too. For your health. And I'm sure you look fine the way you are. You'll probably lose a little weight, particularly from the calories you're dropping from giving up soda. Running will have better results than walking but walking is a great way to get started.
pshh most DEFINITELY! used sugar gets turned into fat. it would be a great start.
Walking at a rate which gets your heart beating faster will help lose weight if need be.
Simple answer, Yes. 10 lbs might be a bit much to hope for from only dropping soft drinks. That said, it's a good place to start.
What do you wear while walking or workingout ?
break a sweat...loss the soda...u'll be fine ;)
