I don't think that's healthy at all. The streets often have trash, broken glass, rocks, etc. That's very unsanitary and could also cause cuts to the feet. If you're concerned about circulation, just go barefoot while you're at home. That should be enough time to get circulation. If you feel that's still not enough circulation, you can wear sandals outside, if it's warm enough. But I think walking barefoot outside would cause problems instead of preventing them.
I agree and I never did it. But I saw many barefooters in the streets recently (before corona hit) and it made me wonder as to why someone would do that!
I never walked barefooted on the streets. But I have walked barefooted outside to my driveway it felt pretty good, and it's okay. I could never imagine walking barefoot from my home all the way to the park though.
Yeah, the reason I asked this is because I noticed many people walking barefoot recently, either jogging or walking their dogs and I never understood why!
I mean if the pavements are clean, then I guess it's okay. But personally I don't really think it's safe.
But there is so much stuff on footpaths, not a good idea.
Daftest thing about this , I was in Durban, South Africa. Been in the sea I thought I would walk back to the hotel bare foot but the tiles on the foot path where too hot so I started walking on the grass at the side , until this beach guy said I wouldn't go that the snakes hide in the grass. You cannot win...
Oh God! I’m terrified of snakes! I never did it but I saw many people barefoot in the streets so I was wondering!
I do enjoy it , walking bare foot. The villa I sometimes used. It was a company thing. This was in South of France. All the floors were marble or similar. Upstairs were bare wood with small rugs. It was great I enjoyed walking around bare foot, a lot of the time nothing else as well...
Yeah, in the summertime I always walk around barefoot. The street where I live is pretty smooth and I live in a very small neighborhood anyway, so I don't think there's anything to worry about. My podiatrist even told me it's good for your feet so i don't see why I shouldn't do it
Well, as long as you’re safe, why not!

I walked barefoot to get the mail. It was painful.
Guess growing up in the country was different than the City. When I was growing up we went barefoot everywhere. we played barefoot all day. We had a large grassy area Between my mothers & my sisters house. My Grandmothers house had been torn down so there was a large open lot so he had plenty of room to play in the grass. When we go to my parents summer camp, all the roads over to the lake was diet under trees so there really not much asphalt that we had to walk on. Doesn't matter shoes or not summer was a lot of fun when we were kids.
Thats a very unattractive feet, maybe Im used to looking at my own. 😂 do not feel offended. And yes, i have walked bare foot on the streets before. It was abit embarrassing because i lost my shoes at that time.
These aren’t my feet lol. But yeah, I know what you mean.
I do down my private road and across the molch and dirt in my yard. It's sharp but I'm pretty careful about it. I have some hard calluses so I don’t get cut so easily
You have to be careful ofc! And long live the calluses
Not where I live, since I live in a downtown area you will never catch me barefoot outside haha. But I do walk barefoot in my home though. That’s because I don’t wear shoes inside of my place, so it’s fine:)
Yeah inside your place is fine ofc! I saw barefooters here where I live in the downtown area too, so it made me wonder!
Well! That’s mighty brave of them hahah
The streets here are made of black asphalt.
Walking barefoot on that will burn your feet in the sun.
I never do that! But yeah, ouch
It feels good sometimes. Some resort islands allow it. Otherwise, walking from sandy beaches onto streets 'til I reach my vehicle.
That helps clean the feet from sand grains somewhat but tar can be too hot! I learned that the hard way
I don't stay barefoot even in my house but I stay barefoot when I go to temples, when walking on grass and the at beach, especially walking on waves.
In your own house no? Why? Haha!
It became a habit and on top of that there's marble flooring in my entire house.
Oh okay! Yeah, makes sense.
Keeping your feet warm stimulates circulation. Generally speaking, your feet will be warmer in socks and shoes than bare.
I am frequently barefoot in my own home, but I can control the temperature and the surface. I would much rather be wearing shoes while walking on
glass, rocks, and any other litter that may be in the road.
When i was a kid, probably. I didn't know there were health benefits...
It's called grounding or earthing
But you need to walk on mud not cement roads in nature you need to walk
I didn’t know it existed either until I saw some people jogging barefoot, but as @Aakash_Hangardi said, it should be done on grass, mud or sand!
@Aakash_Hangargi interesting! i didn't know about grounding.
i would run track barefoot in middle school because it was more comfortable
@Sevenpointfive that's good but what about small stones or something sharp gets in your foot was the track made of mud?
@Asker it used to be natural once before mobile phones invaded people's personal life and gaming technology, people used to connect with nature more, with grass mud sand rain wind the fivd elements that constitutes our body Air, Fire, Water, Vaccum we have lost the core values in a sense
@Sevenpointfive really? i'd feel like i'd need support on a track (even though most are made of rubber lol)
let me correct myself. i'd run in socks
I walk barefoot on the beach mostly.
Aaaand a few times on the street after a party.
Why after a party? When you’re drunk you mean?
Oh yeah! I don't know how high heels feel but I bet they hurt
let me dispell this. unless you build up a callus then you gain no benefit
I know! I saw people doing it recently and it baffled me
Haha no. Shoes are for protection and even then doesn’t always work. Have you ever stepped on a nail or piece of glass? Spoiler alert, it hurts!
I never walked barefoot in my own apartment, let alone outside in the streets. Before this whole COVID-19 pandemic broke out though, I noticed some people jogging barefoot and it’s been on my mind ever since. Why?
Mostly in house walk barefoot and in mud or ground I walk barefoot in garden in my backyard but not on road
That sounds okay! I was baffled when I saw people barefoot on cement
It's ok it was quite common and still is in India at least
Given the state of streets in London and the amount of glass around probably not
Haha I agree
Never! Do you really want you feet where dogs have peed and crapped? Where people have spat? Even on our beach, I wear flip-flops or sandals.
No! And I never walk barefoot not even in my room. I noticed some people doing it though and I wondered why!
actually yes, I've done it so many time. A few times drunk but other times with friends just randomly
Seriously? Like where would you intentionally go barefoot?
Our ground is dirty and sharp, you can easily cut yourself and cause a serious infection.
I know! Easily
A few times, to a little brook, or tiny lake, and just feeling the stones and soft mud is really nice! Watch out for Leeches!! :) :)
Yes I have & I was a stupid asshole for doing it & I learned that the pavement was HOT as well. Ouch!
In the summer as a mid teenager into my mid 20s I would as I liked the freedom, then I discovered I had an 1cm instep and so need support. Avoid canine pavement toffee though.
I walk bare food all the time but never on the streets.
Yeah me too!
Hell no!
Broken class, thorns and (here in Australia) pavement, sand and dirt upon which an egg can be cooked.
Nope can't say as I have.
I have before, but it's probably not healthy. I do have calluses on my feet and toes fora reason.
Humans walked for hundreds of thousands of years with bare feet.
Walking on street pavement or packed black bitumen wouldn't provide the same benefits to walking on the cool good earth.
When I was a kid I forgot my shoes when out in public then I had to go to the wrestling matches bare footed at the Asheville Civic Center when I was up at our family campground for the summer
yes i have but mainly only outside of my house or other places that i know
I grew up going barefoot everywhere in the summer so I guess old habits die hard 😂
So you walk in the streets barefoot?
Sometimes. But I live in a rural area so if I’m walking somewhere it’s usually back roads or through a field, if I’m going into town on actual streets I’m usually driving
Yeah that makes sense then!
Yeah but not too much because it’s pretty dangerous with all the broken glass and rocks in the street better off doing that in your backyard
always barefoot when I was a kid
At home, me too! But outside?
Used to. Haven't in years though.
Outside?
No, I never did anything like that.
Used to. Now I'm kind of a tenderfoot.
Yes, both on purpose and on accident
What’s the point of it? I saw some people do it and I don’t get why? Could you please explain
It's more comfortable
yea that shit hurts
4 money!
Lol, I don't know if anyone would pay you to hurt your feet.
That's very healthy excerpted un dirty big cities.
How’s it healthy?
Your feet breath and stay in contact with the ground
